Loved the place, the decor, the clentelle but not too impressed with the menu, for an establishment like this thought it would be a bit more gastro

We went here on Sunday based on tripadviser reviews but were very disappointed. We ordered the Sunday roast, our meat was undercooked, fatty & chewy, the roast potatoes were also undercooked, the veg selection on the plate was very uninspiring-nothing green at all & the 1 Yorkshire pudding was so thin & flat! We ended up paying & going up the road to the knutsford wine bar where we had coffee & desert which was heavenly. We saw their roasts coming out & they looked amazing, know where we'll be going next time!

We had organized a small gathering of family and friends at the Freemasons for an afternoon funeral wake. Gabby, Chloe and the chef did a a great job of looking after us with a fantastic, generous buffet of fresh sandwiches, hot chips, home made sausage rolls, scotch eggs and pork pies, beautiful salads and homemade fish pates, at extremely reasonable rates. It was such high quality fare, and everyone enjoyed the surroundings of this lovely cosy pub, with its real wood fires and comfy seating. There is a side room off the main bar which lends itself perfectly for these types of occasions.I would have no hesitation recommending this venue. Deepest thanks to the staff for their help and assistance...they made it all very easy during what was a very stressful time for the family. Thank you.xxx

Amazing turn around from a very good Thai eaterie with a dodgy bar to a real cosy, friendly, warm pub..

It pretends to be nothing else, great food, great service, top food and real value.. You have a roaring fire in both the 'tap' and lounge' room. Lager is Sagres on tap (quite rare) and the usual regular beer, a great selection of spirits, wine and bitter..

The Bake Club is a nice touch once a month and even for a man who cannot bake, you can just enjoy sampling!!

Great location with parking at the front and a beer garden at the rear..

Don't just take my word for it.. Try it for yourself.

We have visited the Freemasons in its various guises over the years, ever since 1991. I am pleased to say the pub has regained its place as somewhere to go for everyone, a couple of blips in the last few months but now a firm favourite for family and friends, Sunday roasts are exceptional.
