“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

We stayed one night here on a TravelZoo voucher. We loved it. Our room was so quiet and relaxing and it was very spacious. The grounds were delightful. We had an early meal (my gluten free needs were dealt with professionally and helpfully) so we could go back to our room to watch Hussein Bolt on our flat screen TV. It was so lovely to have a breakfast of our choice served to our table. I hate hotels where you have to help yourself to a buffet of hard scrambled eggs, watery tomatoes and mushrooms etc. etc. We visited Tatton Park on our way to Mere Court and Liverpool the next day. We would certainly use this hotel again.

Enjoyed the stay, very clean and pleasant bedrooms. All the staff were helpful.Dining room is great and the chef catered for my gluten free diet without any problems. The gardens are well
tended and I should imagine it could be a lovely venue for a wedding.

Booked a lakeside room which turned out to overlook a wire fence and unattractive farmers field. That aside the room was spacious with large bed and jacuzzi bath. Then the dinner which was overlooking a very green looking lake which was supposed to be fine dining was tasty but uninspiring. There were also mosquitos in the restaurant and room. Staff were friendly but a bit disorganised. Breakfast was good but staff seemed in a hurry to clear away - assume they were getting ready for a wedding later that day. All in all it wasn't the relaxing experience I'd expected.

Dear RenLondon

Thank you very much for your feedback, I am sorry to read that you felt that your stay was disappointing, that aside I am pleased that you enjoyed our spacious bedrooms and Jacuzzi bath
.
Our Menu changes every 6 to 8 weeks and I am sorry if you felt it was uninspiring on this occasion, we will spend more time to think “outside the box” when composing our new one.

Being in the country side I agree that we have had few more flies than usual, the hot and humid weather next to farmer’s field has not helped us but I am pleased to say that they have now gone.

I do trust that this will not prevent you in visiting us again in the future

Regards

We met two family members at Mere Court one evening for a meal, having already known this hotel. We met in the bar, which is one large but very comfortable, although there are another two rooms that have easy chairs in. Drinks were a little expensive, but that is to be expected. We chose our meals from the bar menu, and were pleased we could eat in the restaurant instead of trying to eat from the coffee tables in the bar! I ordered a beef burger from the light menu, but this meal was not 'light' it was enormous! Chips, salad, cole slaw and a bun that was piled high with bacon, cheese, salad and two burgers. Tasted wonderful, and well worth the price. The rest of my party had fish, chips and mushy peas; omelate with chips and beef sandwiches with chips, everyone said what a great meal.
Afterwards we went back and sat in the bar, where drinks were ordered, and this is where the staff fell down! I ordered a tea, and after waiting a considerable time and then reminding a member of bar staff, a cup of tea arrived in a coffee cup! I mentioned that tea was usually served on a tray with teapot. Cup of tea taken away and tray with tea arrived fairly quickly. Unfortunately I don't think the bar staff had made tea before, as there were three teabags in a small pot which made the tea very strong, again a coffee cup.
This did not detract from a very pleasant evening, in excellent surroundings.

We arrived at the Mere Court Hotel for afternoon tea, using a Travelzoo deals voucher. On arrival my daughter and I were impressed by the look of the hotel, the car park near the entrance meant you had to walk up the drive giving you the chance to see the well maintained and pretty flower beds. The hotel itself looked clean and well kept and on arriving at reception we were asked to take a seat in the lounge. Someone came to take us through for afternoon tea and we had a choice of whether to sit in a nicely laid out dining room or outside. We chose outside and sat on the patio by the lake and it was very tranquil even though a wedding reception was taking place in the adjacent conservatory. The setting couldn't have been better, and neither could the afternoon tea - freshly cut sandwiches, home baked scones and cakes, and a choice of tea or coffee. The service was attentive but never intrusive and we had a lovely time. We will certainly go back.

Our son got married at Mere Court Hotel on 3/08/2012 and the day was wonderful. The mere court looks spectacular , so fabulous for photos , on approaching the flowers and shrubs are stunning and made a beautiful backdrop for memorable photographs. The building is obviously kept to a high standard.
The staff were very attentive and welcoming. The bed rooms large ,comfortable and airy with lovely bedding and large bathrooms with powerful showers.
The food was delicious.
I would definately recommend this fabulous venue for a very memorable wedding. There is nowhere we are aware of locally that can compete.

Room Tip: They are all individual and beautiful, none of our guests had a bad word to say about any of the roo...

Stayed at this hotel last night on a trip advisor promotion deal for £99 we got the most beautiful room overlooking fields with a sitting area (most unusual) we had a lovely a la carte 3 course meal and a lovely breakfast this morning, the staff were very attentive and friendly, the hotel is the best we have stayed in by far with lovely gardens where a helicopter parked overnight to add a bit of novelty. there is a lovely patio area overlooking the small lake. And to top it all we had a lovely day at Tatton Park.

Room Tip: Lakeside rooms are away from the main hotel and very quiet.
