Stayed at The Mere for one night. Great experience, very nice hotel, lovely rooms and good staff. Location is good, just out of Knutsford, near M6 and Manchester Airport.
Rooms were spacious and very clean, the breakfast is a buffet / help yourself and was good. We went out in the evening into Knutsford which is a nice place with plenty of restaurants. The hotel has two bars, one of the bars has The Mere's own cask bitter 'Mere Gold' available, which is very good. However this isn't available at all in the other bar, which was disappointing - so if I was to make one reccomendation it would be to put 'Mere Gold' in both bars !

Stayed here overnight and everything was superb, the rooms are beautifully decorated as are the public spaces. Had lunch at the back of the hotel overlooking the lovely lake and golf course. The evening meal was great as was the breakfast the next morning. The jewel in the crown has to be the lovely spa, were we had a great back massage and stayed the next day. The hamman and steam rooms are just lovely. The staff were great too, good service with the personal touch. 55. would give it 6/5 if I could!

stayed overnight at the hotel which was in a beautiful setting and furnished lovely, we had a drink and a snack in the club lounge which was very nice, the staff was also very good. we had booked back massages for both myself and girlfriend which were absolutely fantastic! the spa and the facilities were also amazing with a variety of saunas, steam rooms etc. we ate at browns and the food was excellent, the unfortunate let down of the stay was the bed in the room, 2 mattresses pushed together which were of different height and were highly unconformable, other than that a fantastic place to stay and would recommend to anyone!

My husband and I made a return overnight visit to this lovely hotel with our daughter and her fiance. The men played a round of golf on each day whilst we stayed in the spa and we had such a wonderful time again. It really is a beautiful place and the rooms are of a very high standard.
We ate in the Club Lounge this time and really liked the food and atmosphere in there and the portions were very generous!
Breakfast was a buffet this time with fried eggs cooked to order and we liked this much better as there was no waiting around for your food to be served to you - the eggs came very quickly.
We had another great stay and I'm certain that it won't be our last visit.

I went to a wedding here, stayed overnight and had a spa day the next day, it was: sumptuous, opulent, luxurious, immaculate, chic, smooth, classy, professional and above all friendly.

The wedding was wonderful, but I’m sure a lot of that is down to my wonderful bride friend and her impeccable taste. The hotel was ran by super efficient, competent, composed staff, who all seemed amazingly relaxed considering there was another major event happening, a busy restaurant and lots of golfers stomping around.

The food really was world class, I’ve eaten at restaurants across the globe and the hotel’s main eatery really was superb (if a wee bit pricey).

The rooms are spacious, clean (someone has OCD!) thought out and stylish- all boasting views of the stunning mere (lake) and golf course. Cheshire really is charming.

The spa is sensational, the staff seemed to float they are so relaxed and the therapists really knew their stuff (including we’d been to a wedding the day before, which I thought represented them going an extra mile)

Above all we were sad to go, and intend to go back, the hotel receptionist told us they do afternoon tea!

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Lake/Golf course

I was part of a conference of 16 people. The hotel bedroom was fantastic and was of a 5* standard.

The group dinner in Browns restaurant was very disappointing. For a start they only brought out 15 dinners and then tried to blame us when one person was left without food for about 10 minutes.

I've never had to send food back before for being inedible but the quality of duck was very poor. I couldn't even cut it with a knife and it was under cooked. Two other people ordered duck and theirs was ok although very rare. To be fair, I asked for a replacement dish and had sea bass which was good.

6 people sent their steaks back as they didn't ask how they wanted them cooking and they were very rare. One person had to send it back twice. Several people left their puddings as they didn't like them.

I asked to speak to the duty manager and was told that he would come and see me. He didn't.

At breakfast, a colleague ordered a fried egg and reminded them 15 minutes later and they said that they had forgotten.

It's a lovely venue and maybe chef had a bad day at the office.

Dear Sir,

Thank-you for taking the time to write this review; we are obviously disappointed that your experience in Browns did not match your or our expectations.

We are pleased however to hear that you enjoyed the majority or your stay and the hotel facilities.

Our Food and Beverage Manager would love the opportunity to discuss the above with you in more depth; if you are able and willing please feel free to call us.

Many thanks

World famous for Golf, this is a new hotel that has been added to compliment the Golf Club. Stayed here in September 2012, had several meetings. Great reception....my only comment would be (and I know its a minor one) there are no automatic doors to reception, a minor detail you may say, but they are very heavy and if loaded up with luggage and brief case, its very difficult to get into the place!! A pleasant reception and bar area (comunal area) , although I think they may have missed a little opportunity, its a little soulless and does not reflect other parts of the hotel. A fantastic golf shop sellling some great clothes and equipment (even if you dont like golf). Bar is exceptional, fabulous views and great atmosphere. The rooms are lovely, well appointed and immaculate. Great Service all round too. Location is great for M6, and to get into Knutsford, Manchester or Cheshire in general for that matter
