We stayed for one night and found the location to be wonderful with very nice helpful staff. Our room was really lovely with a wonderful outlook and a very comfy bed. We were not disturbed at all in the night by any sort of noise even though there was a wedding reception in the hotel.
The room was mostly clean but there was dust behind the TV and in a few other places and a couple of the essential bathroom items were not provided. Our main course at dinner was a bit of a disappointment as we had ordered one sirloin steak and one veal which carried a surcharge of £9.00 on the steak and £8.50 on the veal, both the veal and steak were very tough and not at all enjoyable. Our starter and dessert were excellent and thinking back we should have complained about the meat as they did come and check if everything was okay, but it was very busy and we had waited a long time for our main meal as it was.

Overall it was a very nice experience in a lovely location.

We stayed for a night via Travelzoo deal and it was excellent. The hotel is ideally located just off the motorway and is also ideal for night before a flight from Manchester Airport. The resort is very relaxing and the decor luxurious. The bedrooms are very comfortable and contemporary and clean. The check-in and out were smooth and quick. The patio area in the bar/lounge is very relaxing with a nice outlook over the golf course and the lake. We ate here twice and had 2 lovely salads. We also had a 3 course meal and breakfast in the restaurant which were also excellent. Our only complaint was the disorganisation of the waiting staff and system which was confusing and often resulted in us being missed. The spa is very good and the pool is lovely and there is a great area outside with sun loungers (assuming you get the weather). Someone comes round and serves you with drinks so you don't have to go anywhere. There is also a range of steam rooms and spa rooms and jacuzzis. Overall this was a great, relaxing stay in a quality hotel with great facilities and we would definitely come back again.

Stayed here for one night with my friend, her mum and aunty. we were made to feel very welcome as soon as we got there. Our room was gorgeous huge comfy bed and lovely clean bathroom. We spent an hour at the poolside and ordered a cocktail which was the only fault as it was 9£ and was tiny! The spa and pool area is very clean and We had dinner at the restaurant which was amazing the steak I had was cooked to perfection and we were waited on hand and foot! We also ordered room service which was really good value for money. Would definately stay here again!!

We recently visited the Mere resort for a wedding. The hotel was really something, from the moment you drive in through the lush grounds to the chilled cocktail we sipped by the pool the next day. Our room was a 'club room' which was decorated nicely, with a well stocked fridge, fresh flowers and good view of the hotel's pretty grounds. The staff were very helpful, and made a fuss of the bride (and her parents). There was another wedding happening at the time, and they seemed sensitive to this. The food was impressive, quite original and good sized portions (not overwhelmingly large). the staff also knew the recipes for some elusive cocktails!
The next day we briefly (more fool us) visited the spa. Staff were super friendly (almost American, in fact!) and knew their stuff when my pregnant friend enquired about possible treatments.
The food here was good, if a little flowery in description.
This place is well worth a visit, it's more Surrey than the North West - well worth the extra money. (*****)

After buying a golf voucher we decided to use it on my fathers birthday. On only the first hole we were asked to hurry up even though there was no body waiting behind us. By the 8th hole we had been told the same thing a total of 5 times two of which was on the same hole within 10 minutes of each other. If at anytime we had felt other players were catching up we waited and let them go first! Everytime they came to complain to us they were causing us to be slower and so meant those people behind then caught up causing the issue they claimed to be trying to avoid. By the time we reached the 11th hole the manager came to us again and after we pointed out that the people behind were playing at the same pace we were told we were not allowed to finish our game. It is understandable that they don't want other players to be held up but this was only happening when they stopped us for ten minutes to complain at us. I would not go to this golf course again and would not recommend others to do so if they want to enjoy the sport. They were not prepared to honour the voucher or offer a refund. In the end they reluctantly gave a spa voucher which I don't think we will use as it does not match up to the value of the golf vouch we purchased and the customer service was appalling we were made to feel harassed which is unacceptable.

Beautiful venue, stunning room! Spa was great!!

Sitting out at the Lounge Bar, for a beer and dinner..... Very poor service, not very attentive waiter service! I had to ask for the table to be cleaned as the food was served not ti mention just catching the eye of a waiter for a beer. Food was very good by the way.

Breakfast in "Browns", great spread, seats and floor did not appear to have been cleaned from the night before, crumbs and debry every where, no excuse!

Judging by the metal in the car park I'm surprised by this as it has the feel of a place that could be very good and not just corporate churn!

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent experience.

Whilst I am delighted to see elements of your stay were good I am of course disapointed to read that we still have some improvements in consistency to make in some elements of our customer service and areas of cleanliness. With your feedback I will continue to focus the team in these areas where improvements can be made and I am sure the next time you stay with us you will notice the improvements.

Thank you once again for your response.

The rooms, and especially the spa are absolutely fantastic.

The problem is the service... and the pretentious nature of the place.

Both the restaurant (sorry not just a restaurant but Browns!!! If you want to see some real pretentious marketing rubbish read why!!) and outside tables were filthy at dinner and breakfast - we had to ask to be clean. We ordered a bottle of red wine, of which they tried to overcharge us - and got one white and one red wine glass. It is impossible to get the restaurant food outside... even on a beautiful evening.

Staff in general were badly trained with little to no management visible.

A great facility let down by management and staff... what a pity
