Our visit was on a rainy day but this added to the atmosphere in this historic family manor. The guides were friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. The paintings were magnificent , the Norman knight dominating the entry foyer making a visit worthwhile in itself. A return visit would still not satisfy my curiosity about this fascinating place. Although we only saw the extensive garden between showers it has been beautifully maintained and the stables are unique. I would have loved to have visited the quaint church which is adjacent to the house.
