Premier Inn Knutsford (Bucklow Hill) Hotel

Stayed in this hotel for the second time for meeting up with friends in nearby Knutsford. On arrival good sized car park and plenty of parking spaces. Lady on reception was very friendly when checking in. Asked if I was going out in the evening (I was) and provided me with about 6 taxi numbers to ring to arrange my transport. The hotel is a bit out the way but a short taxi to knutsford (beware the high price for the taxi journey which was £10 each way) Also offered me an upgrade to king size room. Room was decent for the price (£25 premier inn offer) so can't complain. Comfy bed and clean and tidy. Nice big Samsung TV offering digital TV. Room was quiet. Only complaint was the shower which had really high water pressure. I'm a fan of power showers but this hurt a bit and it felt like I'd been sand blasted when finished. Restaurant is standard premier inn pub food (brewers fayre). Was ok but overpriced for what you got. Was made to wait a bit for service as well as one member of staff was covering both restaurant and bar area. Good job it wasn't a particularly busy weekend. The hotel was great for the price. Good value and a nice sleep. Late 12pm check out as well the next day.

Dear Guest,
Lovely comments, thank you.
I was very pleased to hear that not only did you get a super rate but also an upgrade. We always try to offer our biggest rooms whenever the hotel is not busy.
You also noticed the new tv's had arrived (at last!) and we are aware of the water pressure issue. Believe it or not, that is the lowest setting for the site. We will have to fit flow regulators to each individual room to rectify the problem and a feasibilty project has been undertaken. I guess rather too strong than just a trickle though!
Once again, many thanks, we look forward to seeing you on your next trip to Knutsford.
Best regards
Sue.

Dear Guest,
Happy new year! Is it too late to say that? Oh well, thank you for your positive feedback. It was nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Hope you were flying out to somewhere exotic, but whatever the destination, I hope that you will stay with us en route to Manchester Airport.
Best wishes
Sue

We stayed here on a Saturday night for an evening out in Knutsford . We have stayed in a number of premier inns and I have to say this matched others in service and cleanliness but it was the largest bed, bedroom and bathroom that we have had. Free parking was plentiful and it was about £8-£9 in a taxi into the centre of Knutsford where there are lots of great shops, bars and restaurants. I left my phone charger behind and when I phoned to report it the reception staff already had it and kindly packaged it and posted it to me the following day for a small fee only to cover the actual postage.

What a nice option to be able to take a break and pop into Knutsford. As you say we are just outside of town but it's an affordable option for a new year treat.
Glad to hear that your phone charger arrived safely.
Happy new year!
Best regards

Having used this Premier inn before decided to book in for the night, as was meeting friends for a 50th birthday dinner, check in was good staff friendly and polite offered us a ground floor room instead of the one we had been allocated, said that the room was larger and had a wet room, so we accepted the room was larger and the wetroom was fantastic size wise, walk in shower with plenty of room, huge!!. Upon entering the bathroom/wetroom mirror was smeared and had water marks on it which were clearly visible from the doorway no disrespect but you would have had to be blind not to see them, the shower rail was dusty and the support rod from the ceiling was covered in thick dust I touched it and a chunk fell into my hand. the bedroom was warm and the bed was clean but again dust clearly visible on the t.v and on the wardrobe shelves which as the wardrobe had no door was very visible and the top of the wardrobe was very dusty. poor cleaning very evident. Free Wi-Fi was advertised in the room on closer inspection 30 mins per day wow can they spare it? just two teabags and two sachets of coffee as well as three or four sugars and four cartons of milk and no biscuits I know Premier Inn advertise as a budget chain , but this is budgeting too far, and takes the meaning of tightness to a whole new level

Room Tip: Check round for other hotels

We stayed here just before Christmas when we were dropping off presents to relatives in various parts of the country. It's great for Manchester, North Wales, Manchester Airport and the North West in general. There's some beautiful countryside on your doorstep in Cheshire and lots to do in surrounding areas too. It's in an historic spot on an old (reputedly haunted) Roman road-there is a roman milestone built into the building of the pub next door, and Bonnie Prince Charlie is reputed to have spent the night at the Swan, next door to the hotel. This was our first visit to a Premier Inn and I expected it to be similar to other budget chains we had stayed in before but it was nothing like that. We were welcomed at a really nice reception and given the key to our room even though we had arrived half an hour before check-in (2pm). The room was clean, warm and had plenty of space as well as a separate bathroom off the spacious entrance hall. We didn't have much of a view as we were next to a wall, but there was no noise from the nearby roads or Manchester Airport which is usually audible in this part of Cheshire. It was really cosy and comfortable and we slept really well. The pub next door is a lovely, quaint old Inn and the breakfast (both cooked and continental) was a great start on a cold winter's day. All the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming and checking in and out was effortless. We also felt very safe in our room and there were no noisy groups or shouting in the corridor which seem to be a feature of some budget hotels. The pub is an historic building with loads of character which they have done well to keep, the hotel itself is not the most modern building BUT the rooms are larger than average and you don't get that feeling of claustrophobia which you can get in other places. It's great for families with buggies and travel cots and all the other stuff you need to carry about with you. The check out time is mid day which is a lot more reasonable than most of the budget hotels and parking here is free and plentiful. Certainly better than any of the budget hotels close by and I bet they could give their more expensive rivals a run for their money.

Dear Guest,
Wow! That really just about covers everything. Thank you you for the really positive comments.
One of our other reviews said we 'punch above our weight' and it sounds as though you are of the same opinion, which is terrific to hear.
I will pass your comments about the Swan next door to my colleagues over there.
Once again, many thanks and....... Happy New Year!

Hi Lesley,
The best yet! That's really some recommendation!
Thank you so much for such marvellous comments about our Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre.
I do understand what you mean about the covered access though. At the moment there is a howling gale and driving wind so we are running to the Swan for our coffee!
Happy New Year!
Best regards

Found this hotel by mistake as had previously booked another but realised just in time that it was too far from the motorway. Stayed for one night as needed to break our journey up to Scotland. We arrived on the first night of the dreadful storms the week before Christmas and literally got blown in through the reception door. The receptionist was lovely and gave us one of the disabled rooms not being used so we had a king size bed. If you have a disability do not hesitate to book one of these rooms which are larger. The room was very clean and well equipped for one night plus the bed was really comfy and we had a great nights sleep. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and on both occasions the staff were friendly, polite and professional. As for the food it was piping hot with excellent portion sizes and good value for money. We will certainly be back again to break our journey next year.

Dear Guest,
Happy New Year!
What a lovely review. It's always nice to stumble across a place by accident and I am so pleased to learn that we exceeded your expectations. I will also share your comments with my colleagues next door at the Swan about your positive experience.
I bet Scotland was a lot of fun for Christmas, just hope the weather wasn't too fierce!
See you on your next trip north, I hope.
Best regards
