“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

Lovely Staff, comfy beds, clean rooms, great facilities. Help on hand for any purpose. Couldn't ask for anything more.
Would recommend this place to anybody who asked!!!!!!!!!!!
Good food in the adjoining "Swan" public house.
For both establishments you can always guarantee service with a smile.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, however if you smoke, a ground floor 1 can be requested.

A very good first impression on arrival by a receptionist who made me feel I was her first customer of the day. A good room and great breakfast. The room we were in had parking right outside the door which made life easy as I am disabled although I hadn`t mentioned it to the staff. Maybe they remembered from a previous visit. I have been stopping here for years and it never lets me down.

As usual for a Premier, superb room with King bed, clean, comfortable, roomy, good bathroom with gallons of hot water (great shower), lovely clean towels and linen. Lovely receptionist, lovely bar staff. Cosy bar and restaurant. Moan no 1, despite turning the heating down still stuffy, fan provided was useless and very noisy, asked for the old fashioned rotating type, but told the ones they have are the 'modern ones'. Moan no 2, despite restaurant being very quiet on a Friday night, the food seemed to be cooked very very quickly and tasted overdone. Steak was pink in middle but very hard outer, free pint given for the complaint - fair enough. BUT, there was no time between courses, fast as plates were taken away, along the next thing came. Far too quick for us, no time to take a breather. Generally good and adequate for one night.

Looks like this place was a former Travelodge and is still in need of a re-fit. However, it is perfectly clean, just not particularly pleasing to the eye nor well decorated. Bed is lovely and comfortable and the bathroom all very functional too.

All the staff I dealt with at reception (3 in all) were exceptional, so polite and helpful and seemed genuinely proud to do their job and pleased to help, that's so refreshing these days when mostly you just get grunts.

Swan pub alongside serves good quality simple pub grub and again the staff are very helpful and the venue appears to run very smoothly.

I'll happily stay here again, value for money just outside Manchester!

We were welcomed by a very friendly lady on reception. All the staff were very friendly and helpful to us and our 3 year old grandson. The food was very good both at dinner and breakfast. The hotel was easy to find and there was no noise from the road.

They say that you get what you pay for, although with this hotel I feel you get a lot more. It isn't a great hotel but if you just need a bed fr the night and a decent breakfast then it is great. Being used to 5* hotels, my expectations had to be lowered, but I have stayed there twice and would certainly stay again. The rooms were large, clean, and acceptable. Staff were fine, and breakfast more than adequate.
My only problem was that there is no after hours drinking which is a problem on a lads night out.

I would definitely stay again

Stay here quite often because of work. Staff are very friendly and will help with all kinds of problems. The rooms are very spacious, even for a premier inn. Entrance hall with wardrobe area with doors to bathroom and bedroom. Bedrooms have two single beds and a sofa bed.
The Swan is also very friendly. Food is good and reasonably priced.
