“Cheshire farmhouse experience”

Moss Farm (v near the M6) offers all you might want for an overnight stay, (we were travelling from the south to Scotland) or for longer periods (they also do self-catering). Our room (the Rose room) was spacious, with a well equipped huge bathroom, comfortable bed, large towels, ample hostress tray etc. The lounge has plenty of easy chairs and sofas and a welcoming log fire. The extensive breakfast menu featured local produce, eggs from the farm and homemade preserves. We had an excellent evening meal at the "Smoker" nearby where there are special deals, which are particularly good on Friday evenings. However, there are also several other well recommended eateries within a few miles. Finding the farm could be a bit tricky in the dark (you are given ample instrucions), but once you arrive you can indulge in the lovely surroundings and the peace the farmhouse has to offer. (Just note the cockerel in the morning!).
If you want an anonymous room like a box with a bathroom attached and Little Chef breakfast you need a Travel Lodge. If you want to experience an authentic Cheshire farmhouse with character and where your enjoyment is the priority of the hosts, then this is for you.

Staying at Moss Farm is an absolute pleasure! I've stayed in the Balcony room both times I have been there - very spacious room, with a big adjoining bathroom. It was well furnished, very clean and the breakfast the next morning is superb - a great menu to choose from, you even get homemade preserves! The location is lovely and quiet, and relatively easy to find - Rachel's directions were spot on, and she is a fantastic hostess.

I have recommended Moss Farm to many people, and am looking forward to staying again soon when I'm in the area.

Room Tip: The balcony room is lovely and quiet, although I suspect all rooms are of the same high standard

We arrived early evening, Rachel was ready and waiting to make us feel at home from the start. She could not have helped us more, driving us to local restaurant, organising local taxis and recommending some fantastic venues in the surrounding area. The actual farmhouse is wonderful, at one point I even tried to work out how much it would cost to live there on a permanent basis!!! We stayed in the Balcony Room with ensuite in the main house with lovely views overlooking the pond (frozen over) but beautiful. I did have a sneak look into the room across the hall The Rose Room I think it is called which was also lovely. I don't know the make of her bed and bedding but I would like the same in my house.. The choice for breakfast was plentiful, all homemade produce. She even went out to get me a freshly laid egg. The only dampner was that I managed to spill orange juice on her damask tablecloth. Rachel, sorry again for that!! I am busily planning another visit in (I hope) the very near future along with husband and two children. 10/10 faultless. Thanks.

We've just stayed at Moss Farm B&B for the third time in a year - it's getting to be something of a habit for us! We visit the area in Spring and Autumn each year for family and pleasure reasons discovered Moss Farm a year or so ago. It has everything we wish for in a B&B, and while set in a tranquil rural location, is only minutes away from the M6.

Rachel is a wonderful host who makes guests feel very welcome, and cooks splendid breakfasts - not only sourcing the ingredients locally as far as possible, but making her own preserves and yoghurt, with fresh free-range eggs collected from the hens strutting their stuff in the fields outside!

It's nice too, to have a cosy residents' lounge (with a roaring log fire in winter!), so you aren't confined to your room. We stayed in the 'Rose Room, which is quite spacious and has a large en-suite bathroom. The room has tea and coffee making facilities, a flat screen TV, and there is free wi-fi.

I've no doubt that we'll be back again in Springtime!

What a lucky find, and ideal for my four night stay while filming in Knutsford for ITV.

Everything about Moss Farm is just what you would hope for. Rachel, the owner and perfect host, makes you feel 'at home' from the outset, so much so in fact, that you really don't want to leave!

I totally agree with all the lovely comments made already - thanks again, just a shame I live so far away!

We stayed at Moss Farm as it was close to Arley Hall where we were going to a wedding. We decided to make a long weekend of it and stayed 3 nights. A family of 4 (children 11 and 15) we had the balcony room and second room with connecting bathroom. The accommodation was perfect for us and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the guest lounge, with open fire. As others have commented Rachel's breakfasts are a real treat and certainly set you up for the day. In fact nothing seemed to be too much trouble for Rachel - she is the perfect hostess.
We would not hesitate in recommending this B&B and hope to return at some point in the future.
