Just spent the weekend here at a small family wedding. We weren't the only guests here but I'm sure the others enjoyed their stay along with us. The staff were fantastic, the accommodation fantastic (we had a garden room with a spectacular all round view), food - I can only describe as 'absolutely delicious'. I personally had the full Scottish breakfast as we had a long day ahead of us, then quite honestly wasn't fit to eat my full wedding 3 course meal - which was also fabulous. Snacks were also provided in the evening by courtesy of the Bride and Groom. Only 1 hour 19 minutes drive from Glasgow area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly return to this lovely hotel some time in the future. Thanks Gavin for everything!

Room Tip: The Garden Rooms have a shared patio outside your patio doors, you can sit inside or out and enjoy t...

We spent our 43rd wedding anniversary at this hotel on our way south to see our children.

We were warmly welcomed & shown to one of their Garden Rooms which was beautifully furnished, scrupulously clean & very comfortable.

Both dinner & breakfast were delicious & well presented.

We could not fault anything with the hotel or room. We had a garden room which was large and had a wonderful view of the grounds. The bed was big and comfy. The bathroom was large and had lots of complimentary toiletries. The receptionist was very helpful. The breakfast, which we had delivered to the room, due to not wanting to leave Puppy Dave on his own, was of very good quality with plenty of it. It is a five minute drive into Lockerbie itself which has a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Would most definitely stay here again. It does sound though from other reviews that we were lucky not to have run into the manager!

Room Tip: A garden room with patio access to the grounds ideal if travelling with dogs, saves having to go thr...

As a previous comment stated. Glen is rude and very condescending to the point where you can't ask a question without being mocked. However, we had good luck and didnt have to see much of him until the next day where he tried to over charge our guests despite knowing full well we had the group rate. When the staff cleared our room they didnt pack our fragile candlebras or our cake topper very well both of which subsequently broke. Its redeeming feature is its staff Gavin and Lynne both of which made our wedding day very special. Its just a shame about the boss. Hotel is in a beautiful location and you cant really hear the motorway.

Stopped over for a night with our baby and dog on our way to the Lake district. Hotel very easy to find and set back well enough from the M74 in lovely grounds. The staff were very friendly and could not have done enough for us. The room was also perfect for us as with a travel cot and large dog in tow we needed the floor space! Also ideal having the garden/patio room so the dog could get out without having to go back through the hotel :-) Towel also supplied for his paws which I thought was a nice touch. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely, as was breakfast. All in all a really nice hotel - one we would definitely recommend to friends and return to.

Stayed one night after attending a wedding. The room as small and old fashioned. The rubbish bin in the ensuite was full. Breakfast was adequate but for £125 for the night was poor quality for what was supposed to be a four star. The bed sheets looked unironed and still had a blanket and bedspread rather than a duvet. Along the corridor there was also wallpaper hanging off the wall...

Room Tip: I was in Room 2. Perhaps others have been updated.
