A nice place, warm hosts and good food. Could one ask for more? Perhaps better broadband, but, hopefully, one would not need it too often during visits. I'll happily go back: not a bad destination for people breaking the journey to the Highlands.....

We stay here once a year to break the journey from Surrey to Inverness. We have reviewed several times over the years so I won't add anything more other than to say we received the same levels of friendly hosting from Mark and Morag and that the standards of food, drink and accomodfation are as high as ever.

Following Christmas with elderly relations we brought ourselves back to sanity by giving ourselves Dinner Bed and Breakfast here.

Hosts very relaxed and welcoming, the room traditionally furnished (no flat pack here) to a very high standard, the kingsize bed and duvet were seriously comfortable.

The meal was superb and the dining area although small was very comfortable and busy.(book first)

A added wonderful touch is that you have very little or no mobile phone signal, so a escape to recharge YOUR own batteries is possible.

We will be back soon

From reading previous reviews I was certainly not disappointed by any aspect of our stay in The Hightae Inn. From the moment we arrived until the second we left I have nothing but good to say about both the Inn and the owners & staff.
Our room was bright, airy and impeccable and ideally suited for our overnight stay with a great size bed and all amenities.
We had dinner form the great selection on offer and the fact that local produce is keen to many of the dishes made it the right choice, the food was excellent in every way and the tastes and flavours were as you would expect from home made and locally sourced ingredient food. It was lovely in every way and we had three rounds of clean plates followed by a nice coffee.
The surroundings were really great too, with several tables occupied on a mid winter Friday night, speaks volumes for how well used and supported the restaurant is in the village.
Both Morag & Mark were wonderfully friendly and informative hosts and they rightfully take great pride in, and are fantastic ambassadors for the area. Their friendly and relaxed style is perfectly suited and works wonderfully well and the member of staff who served us was, like them, very warm, friendly and knowledgeable.
Good selection of wines and beers made sure we were not disappointed and there is a wonderful selection of the 'amber nectar' on offer also for those who like a nice tipple.

We can not fault the Hightae in any way, or praise it highly enough. Best praise I can give it for anyone reading this is to say that we WILL be booking again and look forward to doing so.

We stayed at The Hightae for one night in Nov on our way back down south after a business show in Glasgow. We received a warm welcome from Mark and our room was lovely, cosy and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our evening meal was heavenly as was breakfast the next morning. All in all an excellent experience which we plan to repeat when our travels bring us to Scotland again.
