This was our first visit and it really was a quiet haven no traffic only the occasional tractor came by. We were booked in for two nights and at the end of it we were very sad to go .Mark and Morag are wonderful hosts their rooms and food are fantastic .Loads of hot water a great shower a bed to dream in A bar stocked with malts .then there is Morags food WOW we can go on all day about it but try it for yourself and you will not be disappointed.

The five-star reviews are well and truly justified. Mark and Morag are delightful hosts, and Morag's cooking is excellent. There is a lovely, friendly atmosphere in the inn and our room was attractive and beautifully clean.

I would highly recommend the Hightae Inn - my only regret is that we were only there one night.

Four of us ( 2 couples) stayed for one night on way South on 1st September and had dinner there as well.

The variety and good quality of the food and the rooms was matched, indeed surpassed by the friendliness, excellent service and attention to detail of the owners.

Thank you Mark and Morag we had a brilliant stay at your hotel!

We had booked this room as a stop over on our way from Plymouth to the Highlands on our return journey from Europe. On arrival our hosts made us feel very welcome, our room was lovely and I can only describe the bed with goose feather duvet and pillows as a haven of comfort in which I really had to force myself to leave. The standard of the cuisine is wonderful, the range of whiskies available are a joy and the host's knowledge about the whiskies he provides is excellent. Breakfast is of a very high standard. Such a lovely atmosphere in the Hightae Inn. We were so impressed with the Inn that we booked ourselves in for another night. The Inn and the hosts provided us with such an enjoyably relaxing experience that I would highly recommend it to anyone. We will certainly be back and are looking forward to more of scrumptious food. Many thanks

We stayed a night recently and what a treasure. The most welcoming hosts, made us feel right at home. The rooms are beautifully decorated and terrific ensuite supplied with far superior standard of toiletries. Make a night of it and eat at the restaurant, it is a tiny village and you would not want to leave to go into Lockerbie. The meal is superb and the atmosphere of this former village pub is first class. It is a real favourite with travellers being quite close to a motorway exit and attracts many repeat customers. Don't miss it!

This inn is just outside of Lockerbie and is in a lovely village. The food is just super its worth a visit just for the food. The roo was lovely and comfy. Mark was a good host and his Inn carries some unusual whiskies and Guiness "SURGE"?! It was great there we'll certainly return.

Room Tip: All rooms are good

Booked a night's accommodation and food to follow a visit to nearby Dumfries after reading reviews of the Inn on Laterooms.Com. I need say little more as all the reviews here and on Laterooms are not wrong. We'll be back!

Room Tip: There's only five. Don't think any would disappoint.
