“Lodge Rooms”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

I stayed here for two differing mid-week business trips. On each occasion I booked the Lodge Rooms which are slightly detached from the main building and generally cheaper. A very short walk across the courtyard. These rooms are small but have all necessary features and good value for money. When staying on an upper floor the shower pressure was low but the second time (lower floor next time) it was fine. Food in the bar is good pub food and the restaurant slightly better. No complaints there. Bar prices are slightly above average but not too exorbitant. Staff were always friendly and polite without exception. I would stay here again but like all business trips price is the main issue. This location was circa £50/night in the lodge rooms and for my trip good value. I did not use the pool or gym that was included in the price.

Room Tip: Lower floors in Lodge rooms for better water pressure.

From the minute you check in to The Burleigh Court you can tell that it is a well run professional establishment. The hotel is in a easy to reach location not far from the M1 and there was plenty of parking space on arrival. The reception team were fast, knowledgeable and friendly. I stayed in an Executive Double Room which was spacious , very clean and well maintained, It had a sizable bathroom and a fantastic shower. The bed was extremely comfy meaning a fantastic night sleep was had. I cannot comment on any of the facilities the hotel had to offer as my stay was only 1 night whilst visiting friends. I would highly recommend The Burleigh Court and I will be staying here again and based on this visit it will be for a longer period.

Finding the Burleigh Court was easy. It is well signposted and on the Loughborough University Campus. With ample parking and very good security the check in process was friendly and efficient. The hotel has much to offer in the way of sporting and leisure facilities and with numerous conference rooms the communal areas can get a bit busy at times.

The room was spacious and spotless clean. I was surprised to find that for a four star it had no climate control, rather an electric fan had been provided for when the room became too hot. Everything else about the room was very good and the bathroom finished off to a high standard.

Breakfast in the morning consisted of a good choice of English or continental of a good quality and with good service by the hotel staff. The evening meal was a little on the pricey side but they have you captive up on the hill with nothing else around you so I guess that can be expected. The food was of a very good quality and presented exceptionally well in addition to being very tasty.

There is something quirky about a hotel within the grounds of a university and I can't quite put my finger on it. Everything about this place is good including the hi speed internet connection.

Stayed here in one of the executive suites on business. Just perfect! Plenty of space and very comfortable. Bathroom was roomy and power shower great. I had a light breakfast in room and it was delivered on time and exactly as ordered. I didn't use the gym or pool but will next time! Staff were helpful and friendly. Perfect location for a conference or business meetings.

If you are prepared to accept that there will be conference delegates here and the bar will at times be over-crowded then this is a great palce to stay.
It is a little out of town but it has a super restaurant and bar and the staff go out of their way to make your stay pleasant.
There is a great pool and spa and the rooms are more than adequate.
If you have mobility problems then it would be worth telling the hotel in advance and they will give you a ground floor room - sadly there is no lift to the upper floor.

Thank you so much for your feedback and comments which are helpful and most appreciated. We do have a lift to our new wing first and second floors but unfortuntely not to the first floor of the original building. It does however mean that we have plenty of rooms that are not on the ground floor but still easily accessible if you have mobility problems. Just ask when making a reservation. We are grateful that you have taken the time to post your review and for the positive endorsement on Trip Advisor.

Having just completed a 23 day 2,000 mile touring holiday by car on the continent and having stayed in seven hotels, some iconic, and on two ferries, I arrived for a business commitment at Burleigh Court somwhat weary of hotel life. Quite simply this hotel was the best value venue of all I have used during the past month. Easy access off the M1, accessible and secure parking (I could even see my much loved new Jaguar from my bedroom window), clean and comfortable modern facilities and a room my wife and I could each move around and work in when necessary, welcoming and obliging staff, excellent food and drink, and all for a relatively modest price. I repeat: what's not to like?

Room Tip: The layout of the hotel is very elongated so if you wish to be near your car stay near the front rec...

Ok the rooms in the lodge are a bit small but for a few nights for a single person they are more than adequate, the power shower omg where do I get that pressure for home definitely envigorating the spa side I never used so cannot comment, ok the breakfast rate may be a little high but it's a 4 star and the food is good so stop winging..... Maybe you would prefer a 3 star hotel with food like cardboard for a few pounds less.
some people pfffft..........
Overall staff were excellent
Milk and sugar could be more in the rooms for those with a sweeter tooth or for a second cup but that's just nit picking I would definitely reccomend staying here
