“Lovely find in Loughborough”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2012

I was delighted when we discovered this Italian restaurant in Loughborough as there seems to be very few if any good Italians.

The food was very good and extremely tasty and the staff are lovely!! They really do go out of their way for you.

We have been on numerous occasions including for my graduation dinner and will most certainly be returning.

Lots of great offers available like their pasta and wine offers on certain week nights.

A must try!!

“Good atmosphere, fair food but overpriced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

Visited Caravelli on Friday night with a group of friends.

First the positives:

- Excellent, friendly service.
- Great atmosphere - good decor, nice round tables and lively, warm atmosphere.
- Varied menu.
- Excellent fresh vegetables (varied and very well cooked).
- Tasty scallops and calamari.

Negatives:

- Over oily carbonara.
- Relatively tasteless chicken parmigiano
- Warm lager (and pricey at £3.30 a half).

All in all we had a pleasant evening but that was more to do with the company than the food. We are not massive fans of Italian food but this did not make me want to go back or try another one.

If I am honest I think this restaurant gets 'better reviews than it should' because there are a paucity of fine restaurants in the centre of town (many in the surrounding villages) and ther service and atmosphere are good.

“A pleasant restaurant/bed & breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

I had originally bought an 'experience Super Track day' at Priestwold Hall for my husband.

We were given a 8am slot so decided to stay close to Loughborough overnight.

Caravelli's seemed to tick all the boxes. We booked a double room with en suite and also an evening meal.

The room was delightful. It overlooked the church and despite being situated on the 'one way' road, we found it quiet. It felt a little strange having a bath actually in the bedroom, however, due to this being a listed building, there is no alternative. We had a four poster which we found comfortable.

Our evening meal was fine. The food is good, wholesome and enjoyable, not a Michelin 3*, but pleasant. Service we found a little long, but as long as you are not in a rush, its fine.

We were given a table near the window which we felt was probably the nicest.

I do however have to commend for the breakfast. The owners arranged for us to have an early breakfast so we could leave for the Track. This was most appreciated. The young girl who looked after us 'Flori', we found to be really sweet and helpful.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

The small Car Park is quite tricky to find, and being on a 'one way system' you may find yourself making a couple of attempts!
