Went here a few times at uni. Apart from the nice pubs just outside loughborough, this is one of the top places for a good and varied meal.

I love Moomba.

We've been several times over the past few years and it is never a disappointment. You can guarantee some interesting food choices and good service.

The drinks menu is equally good and I am partial to a cocktail when I'm there.

Make sure you book in advance at weekends as it is often very busy. Good tables are the booths or on the mezzanine.

Definitely check this out if you are in Loughborough.

This is a quick thank you to MARK and his team(Sophie) on Friday 5th April. The level of attendance and interest was just right. You were warm ,inviting and accommodating . To take in a group of 29 and turn us around in just over an hour and a half was incredible . The plates were left clean! This is high praise indeed considering it was a group of teenagers, with all their individual tastes. The Boar sausages were excellent. The adults in the group shared the sausages and KANGAROO steak. We did not have tim to eat a pudding but they looked just as good .
This was EXcellent value for money as well as being a nice place to go and eat.

How do you spend an evening with 6 staff plus 26 adolescents aged between 16 and 18 (one of whom is celebrating his 18th birthday), when they have been slogging away all day at course work, at an academic camp in a town none of them lives in; when they can't drink alcohol that night because they are athletes and have signed a code of conduct not to (as have the staff, too) but still want a good time; when there is no common room or lounge or restaurant in the hotel you're staying in. Well, if you are in Loughborough, i'd firmly recommend a trip to Moomba Australian Restaurant, in The Rushes. The restaurant, the food, the service, the staff were excellent, nay phenomenal. We made enquiries the night before to check there would be no problem for them to serve our group, not unreasonably at a set time, as this was a Friday. They prepared a menu for us at a fixed price, and a little something extra/different for the staff if we chose. I shared a kangaroo steak and wild boar sausages with a colleague: sensational..... home made coleslaw, chunky chips (could have chosen jackets), pickles, other salads too. The set menu they provided was a good variety of tucker, and whilst i didn't see the full menu myself, i'm told by a colleague that it too had a good variety of dishes, and was good value.
The atmosphere was quite laid back, early evening, and had a good number of people in of mixed ages, coming and going all the time we were there. Nothing was too much to ask of any of the staff, not even local information of where we could go next (we knew the restaurant needed our tables "back" at a certain time for another party). How many restaurants would ring a competitor to see if they could take us 30+, for possibly only coffee and a cake and a bit of a birthday cake celebration.....
An excellent evening, can't rate it highly enough. I'm even looking forward to my next trip to Loughborough, when ever that might be....
