“Character hotel in calm & attractive location with friendly staff”

We stayed for a 3 night break and were delighted with our spacous comfortable room overlooking the well stocked gardens (we were given a choice and others at ground level looked just as well appointed). We agree with the positive comments of previous reviews, on which we based our booking: Staff are friendly and helpful; there's a wide choice of cooked breakfast; the place is clean and includes most of what you'd expect, including a CD player and an umbrella! It is enough off the beaten track to be an oasis of tranquility with a number of birds in its trees and ducks on its ponds. Yet it is within easy reach of several Suffolk and Norfolk beauty spots. A bonus was the footpath from the back of the garden along the Waveney estuary to the shops, pubs and boats at Oulton Broad itself. Our recommendation for dinner would be the salmon with Norfolk samphire followed by home made lavendar ice cream.

We found this fantastic place after a stay in a very poor overated place in attleborough. the staff were friendly and the food great, it is clean tidy and set in gourgous relaxing surrounds. Luckily it is outside lowestoft which is grimey.
An excellent base for exploring norfolk

Just returned from a 2 day break at this delightful hotel. We booked a 2 day summer special which cost £65 each per night each for dinner bed and breakfast. The room was fine and the restaurant even better, we had 2 excellent dinners and the breakfast was more than adequate with a very full menu. One of the best restaurants that I have eaten at for a long time.
The grounds are beautiful at this time of year, the whole area is very peaceful, there are great walks from the gounds straight on to the Broads. I can thoroughly recomend this hotel, we hope to go back for another break later on thiis year

We were away for a relaxing weekend and thought the food 2AA rosettes looked fine. We had a weekend at the hotel and were pleasantly suprised. The food and service were excellent and the hotel was hidden from the main road and was, therefore, very quiet. Nice walk to Oulton Broad and good road access to Lowestoft & Gt. Yarmouth.

This was our 4th visit to this hotel, and as it had been some time since we had last visited, we had forgotten how great it was. If you want superb, spacious bedrooms with every amenity, a Restaurant where the quality of food matches the service, you will not be dissapointed. Four acres of wonderful gardens are free to roam in, and there is a great summer house to have a coffee or cream tea in. There are great walks from the hotel around Oulton Broad, and the hotel provides a key to a gate giving you exclusive footpath access. If you are a Dog owner there is a dedicated area for you to exercise your dogs.I travel extensively for business and leisure, and cannot reccomend this Hotel highly enough, nothing is too much trouble. The Dine and Unwind Breaks make amazing value too. We cannot wait to return to this Hotel.

My husband and i are in our late 40's and stayed for a two night winter jolly £99.00 per person for a two nights B&B and set two course evening meal.
The room was clean and spacious, the location quiet and very pretty. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was well presented and there was a good choice. We found the portions a good size.
Although i think this is a hotel primarily for adults our daughter and grandson, 10 months, joined us for one evening meal and he was made most welcome and a high chair provided.
All the dogs staying were were well behaved.
The leisure centre was a five minute walk away and could be used at a reduced rate by showing your room key

We stopped for one night prior following a long journey from the Midlands.

The room was very clean, large and tastefully furnished. It had a separate seating area with leather sofa and single seater, plus a large bath room with bath and separate shower.

The grounds were pretty and the staff were pleasant and welcoming.

We had the evening meal which was included in the room tariff. The food was good and the service excellent. The breakfast was also excellent.
