“Enjoyed our visit in the hot weather!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2011

Enjoyed our visit to Pleasurewood hills on a very hot summers day. Thankfully we had discount vouchers, as it is a little pricey to get in. All the rides were thankfully working, and despite long queues we managed to get on most of them. We all very much enjoyed the sea lion show, and seeing the parrots flying about. The staff were all friendly, and helpful. The wipeout ride is obviousley their flagship ride, and well the 2 half hours we spent queing up for. Probably will visit again, but not for a few years. So if all the rides are working then i would recommend a visit, but try and obtain some discount vouchers!!

“Pleasure - No”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2011

We visited Pleasurewood in August during our main Summer holiday. We thought it was weak because of:

On arrival the drive up to the park was drab, a few sad flags on the drive do not a welcome make.
There was no car parking stewarding to welcome or direct guests. Again the first impression was not good
The kiosks were very efficient at taking our £70 for a family of four but a welcome or a smile would have helped as we parted with our cash.
On entering the park it was noticeable that staff were limited in number and sullen.
Signage was poor and contradictory “Sea lion Show at 2pm - No show Today” both showing on indicator boards.
Direction posts were minimal.
Our general impression of the park was that it was jaded and an initial impression of the park established by a train ride around the site was poor. We passed what can only be best referred to as “an attraction graveyard” to the rear of the go karting track which further re-enforced this opinion.
The general state of repair of the site was disappointing with paint fading and peeling from the buildings.
There were surcharges for everything from go karts to ball games. When you have already paid £70 entrance fee this is an insult.
The rides were of limited interest to my children aged 12 and 17 and certainly not enough to provide a “day out for all the family". For example of the dodgems only 6 of 12 were running resulting in long queues. The only way we could fill a day would be spending much of the day in queues for what we wanted to use.
A number of other rides were out of action. In high season this is unacceptable.
It seems very obvious that there has been minimal investment made in the last 20 years. Little things like broken fences around the site all add to a negative initial impression.
There seemed to be no provision for bad weather activities.
The gift shop appeared to be unmanned when we visited.
There was no PA advising what was going on throughout the day
The rides were generally of minimal interest and ambition.
I brought my issues to the attention of the management at the site on the day and by email later and even had to chase for an apology. (No compensation was offered) compared. I would suggest that you take a look at the likes of Crealy – Devon or Lightwater Valley – North Yorkshire for a blue print of what might be attainable or expected for a similar outlay.
We left after a little over an hour and have no intention of returning again in the near future. There was fortunately for us much more to do in Great Yarmouth at a more reasonable cost. If we had known this we would have invested our £70 there instead.

“Borderline if you are 5 Years old , nightmare if you are an adult”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2011

Travelled 2 hours to this theme park. After booking tickets online you have to go to a seperate office to pick them up. Pointless. You then find out which rides are not working on the day- numerous. On the rides you do go on its interesting how many staff tell you without prompting how much they hate working here, that sets the tone and atmosphere of the park. To be fair my 5 year old had a reasonable time but there are so many better places to go fot he money and leadership here needs to be questioned.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2011

To start high prices for entry in return for what you get.
Rides are dated, in my opinion when big named theme parks update rides it looks like the old ones end up at pleasurewood hills.

Not enough staff to run todder rides they would close one ride then open the other and so on.

On the whole a very tidy park but we didn't stay long.

“Great family entertainment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2011

We just spent 8hrs at pleasurewood hills and have had a gr8 day.

Cannot believe some of the negative comments posted on trip advisor, yes park is small but all staff friendly enough, food good value and rides good for all ages.

Our 4yr old was tall enough to go on all but a few rides and was very pleased.

Tea room staff really friendly and extra boiling water available at no extra cost

Fab day out, would definately recommend visiting if holidaying in norfolk area.
