This one was new to us and we had booked a lunch table for 12.30 and had to leave at 2 p.m. to catch a ferry at 2.15. I was a little concerned that we might have to rush the meal, I really didn't need to as the food arrived promptly and we had an hour to eat it in.
Beer selection was good, four ales on the bar from three breweries and all in great condition.
The menu was somewhat limited, the manager apologised as he was short staffed. Not an issue for us as there was something there for everyone so why moan?
The atmosphere in the pub was pleasant with a fairly obvious nautical bent, there was a large fire blazing in the grate and the festive spirit was very much in evidence. Nice!

“Under New Management".... Great food, great staff thoroughly recommend!

We had been put off the Fishermans for over a year after a couple of very poor meals.  We returned recently after friends told us it was under new management.    We decided to return on curry night (every Thursday) and enjoyed a lovely home cooked curry dish, choice of two served with the best onion bhajis I've had.  The service was friendly, the food was excellent with a few interesting and tasty twists. Will happily go again and recommend to others without hesitation,  we enjoyed it  so much we returned the following Thursday for curry night yet again.

Sunday 30th December thought we would try the Sunday roast ....Everything was just perfect, the service, the food and the ambience. (service was exeptional, and Jay tries very hard to please all the customers, he is a real asset). My husband choose the Fishermans Smokie for a starter and was not disappointed.  Roast beef for the main was delicious, home made yorkshire pudding, fresh vegetables and a jug of pipping hot delicious gravy.
We were struggling  to find a restaurant for a good Sunday roast and The Fishermans Rest is definitely better than most & very good value for money. The menu will satisfy most tastes whilst the ambience immediately gets everybody in the right mood, log fire, soft music and a friendly team.  Good choice of menu and the managment seem to go that extra mile to deliver excellent service.  Well done to the chef and the team at the Fishermans we will definitely be back soon!

Lovely looking interior of the pub, very Cosy!
We were a party of 8 plus 2 children under 2 years old!
Sadly we placed our food orders, and it dud not appear for 1 hour, which was unacceptable, as the children went into meltdown by this time!
Food was ok, but nothing special!

Happened on this pub by chance and was chose the rib eye. Fabulous and good value.
Best pub we have been to lately in the area
Found out they are new tenants and the atmosphere was both pleasant and the service good.
