Loved the 70's feel about the hotel. All excellent, room and restaurant/food, except cool jacuzzi and sauna plus cold showers in the changing rooms. Receptionist came across a bit arrogant. Would stay again though

Our 3 night weekend break was good vfm and we enjoyed evenings by the open fire in one of the small lounges which was a satisfying experience at the end of the day . The hotel goes out of its way to provide a high standard of service in rural surroundings and this includes the restaurant which serves an excellent buffet breakfast when busy abd waite service for cooked breakfasts when quiet.

Although we did not use the leisure facilities they looked good with a good sized indoor pool, table tennis pool table and a small gym. The extensive gardens provide a several dedicated areas for croquet and there is a woodland walk with a lake. There is also plenty of seating within the gardens which can be enjoyed on a summers day.

The only downsides were:

That our room (111) was rather cool on the Friday and Sunday nights presumably when the occupancy of the hotel was at a low level.

On the DSaturday there were a number of dogs in the hotel and this was not to our liking.

The restaurant menu changed but only slightly for our three evening meals.

All in all if you want a quiet getaway in a reasonably priced country house hotel you will not do better than The Passford which has atmoshere backed up by good service.

Room Tip: Room 111 was a bit cool during cold February stay. Although when we mentioned this we were offered...

We returned to Passford Lodge because our previous visit was very enjoyable and the attention to my wifes special gluten free diet was excellent .we were delighted to see that GF dishes are now marked on the menu now .I have to say the was one big error as far as what we were served is concerned and i would urge management to ensure that better attention is paid to what is advertised as GF, I have highlighted this error not because we are still unhappy about this mistake but because the hotel was apologetic and dealt with the issue without fuss>.errors happen everywhere and it is a mark of the quality of an establishment if the error is dealt with properly.

The hotel is very warm comfortable with very nice good quality food.the beds are comfortable with nice linen. It is a little old fashioned but that is what it appears to set out to be and what is wrong with that but there is a very nice small leisure centre to help burn off the calories .

It would be really nice if the bar stocked some proper beer though.Italian and american botteld llager , Keg tetleys and Carlsburg are not my idea of a nice beer> i appreciate that draught real ale is probably not paractical for the trade this bar enjoys but some bottle local ale is surely possible and supports local industry

We have stayed at Passford House several times before. On this occasion we went for a 3 day midweek break during a particularly bleak February. This is a classic country house hotel - not ultra smart, but wonderfully relaxing. The location is good - not far from either Lymington, or all New Forest walks. There is a large, attractive garden, but it was too wet for us to walk around it this time! There is an indoor swimming pool, not large, but adaquate for serious swimming (10 freestyle strokes across!) the dinners, included in our DB&B package, were excellent and varied every night. Breakfasts were good, with plenty of fresh fruit available. We were in a' superior' room, which I think is worth the extra. The staff were friendly and helpful. On the downside, some of the decorations are a little tired, and the carpet in our bedroom was worn and flattened. And a carpeted bathroom does seem old-fashioned nowadays. We arrived at Passford House feeling thoroughly jaded - we left feeling refreshed. We'll go again.

We had a lovely one night stay here in February. We were able to take our dog who was allowed in enough areas to make it easy and workable.
The kids loved the indoor pool and I felt really relaxed while reading my book next to one of the roaring fires and being brought copious cups of tea by the friendly staff.
This hotel has a mixture of styles. The old areas are lovely although the becrooms in the newer area cannot be called very stylish. I don't think you would book this hotel if you are looking for 'boutique" more all-round good value and fun for the kids. We loved it.

We have stayed here before, and hoped it would be as good as the last time. The staff at check in were helpful and also helped with luggage as we were at the top of the hotel in a nice room with dual aspect views.. On arrival in the room we found champagne and chocolates which were gorgeous. We enjoyed a lovely cream tea and later used the leisure facilities, only small problem no hot showers which I was assured was temporary. The evening meal in the Restaurant was lovely and staff very good and attentive. Breakfast was very pleasant and freshly cooked and hot. All in all a very pleasant stay, thank you to everyone who makde it so pleasant.

My partner booked this hotel as a surprise for my birthday. It's very charming and beautiful and our room was lovely. It's set in the countryside with extensive and pretty gardens. The staff are friendly and helpful and the whole atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. We missed out on the Sat evening dinner as I had forgotten my dress! The staff said that it was not a problem, but I wouldn't have felt right. Instead, we thoroughly enjoyed a meal from the bar menu. After a wonderful leisurely breakfast the following morning and a wander around the grounds, we bade a reluctant farewell . . . we shall be returning soon!
