Description: Despite dating back at least 300 years, many of the original features of The Kings Head can still be seen today. When you visit The Kings Head you will see the long-lasting beams made from Napoleonic Ships that only add to the character of this old English pub.The pretty courtyard that we see today was previously used for fish-drying, whilst the buildings adjacent to the yard were an abattoir and fishermans house.Despite these drastic changes over time, the inside of the pub has remained somewhat the same and the great open fire that cannot be missed. It is these characteristics that, when you visit, make it easy to imagine the pub back in the 18th Century as a regular haunt for the smugglers and sailors that would frequent this famous sailing town.

me and a few of my girlfriends went here for food and drinks one tueaday night and thought it was just lovely. walked in to a lovely warm pub that felt very inviting. There was two bar staff on and at the time there was a barmaid behind the bar and a very lovely looking young barman stacking logs for the beautiful open log fire. even though he was busy stacking the logs, he made sure that we felt very welcome and didn't stop smiling that was nice. the barmaid showed us the wine list so reveal a lovely array of wines available. we bought a bottle of the fault line sauvignon blanc that was so nice we bought two more bottles. through out the night we were served fast and the barman always insisted on bringing the bottle down to us and regularly checked up on us to see how we were. we ended up having some food which to be honest the portions were a little small for the price but you couldn't fault how it tasted. will highly recommend and come back.

We met for lunch here one cold grey lunchtime. The fire in the hearth was just what we needed. Two of our party had the fish and chips, good sized portions and they tasted great. I had the green Thai curry, excellent presentation, piping hot and so tasty. Good service from pleasant staff
Really good value for money. Would certainly eat here again when next in Lymington.
Before we booked we looked up this place on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed.

Been to Lymington so many times and as it's usually just a small shopping trip or mooch around - we tend to pop into a coffee shop (and I'm not that fussed about coffee as it fills me up; weird, I know!) So we popped into The Kings Head - fabulous! Great atmosphere, lovely old beams, stone floor, rustic tables, candles burning - excellent window seats; which we nabbed. Only had sandwich and green tea - absolutely enormous door-step bread, very fresh. Great service. I could have stayed in there all afternoon.

We popped into the Kings Head on th 'off chance' of a table. We were in luck. We both started with the homemade soup - truly delicious. My husband had the vegetarian stroganoff (he's not a veggie but he wanted to try something different) it was fantastic so full of flavour. I went for the grilled chicken with garlic and again truly deelish. We swopped our meals so we had best of both plates. The atmosphere is warm and friendly with helpful and cheerful staff. Give it a try.
Reasonable priced as well.
