“good for short break”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

I stayed at this hotel Sept 12 for 2 nights, dinner, bed and breakfast. It is a lovely modern hotel, our room was a recently refurbished boutique twin, it was nice but quite small. The breakfasts were excellent, buffet style, everything you could want was available. The evening meals were a set menu, a choice of 3 for the 3 courses. The starters are tiny portions, I had prawn cocktail which consisted of approx 10 prawns!! But the main course and sweet more than made up for it. All in all very good value for money. One critisim, which is often the case in hotels, the bar prices are very steep. £12 for 2 glasses of wine!

Good location for beach & resort facilities. Ideal for families or couples. Very comfortable hotel, spacious family room, excellent choice at breakfast, attentive & efficient staff. Weekend entertainment suited to most tastes. Attractive lounge/bar area. Would visit again.

We stayed here in September 2012 and had been before. The rooms look a bit tired now and quite dark, ok for a short stay. The bar and reception areas are nice and the food is as good as a restaurant. The staff have a strange attitude though not sure if they were being sarcastic or trying to be funny. I was told to get my own knife from another area and a waiter argued the difference between coffee cake and tiramisu!

I have just returned from this hotel with my husband and 2 children and we had a great break with incredible vale.
The room was fine but really warm - there's an overhead fan though which sorted that. The decor is a bit strange - pine furnishings with boutique styling on walls and soft furnishings but this did not spoil the break.
The public areas are lovely and the spa was good with a super-friendly guy on the desk at the spa reception- nothing was too much trouble for him.
The dining experience at dinner was great - not a huge choice but fantastic quality, fresh food- no frozen veg and cooked beautifully. Wonderful value.
Breakfast quality and choice were great as was service but there is a huge queue at the hot buffet- a wee rethink is required here . Tea and coffee were brought promptly to the table and these were served in good sized pots.
Overall, a great stay in a great location with really excellent value and friendly, efficient staff. What's not to like?!

This was our second visit to this excellent hotel. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, the food is superb and the staff are lovely. It is situated right on the seafront. For those dancers out there, there is an air conditioned ballroom. Heaven! We have already booked to go back next year.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms do get hot at night. We had a boutique twin on the ground floor which we preferre...

We booked the rooftop suite as a last minute night away and were very impressed when we arrived. The cost included a 3 course meal for myself, husband and 2 year old as well as breakfast in the hotel restaurant.

Firstly, the service all over the hotel is second to none, all the staff are helpful and friendly, right from telephoning to enquire about the room.

Our room was very spacious and featured a little sitting area, separate dressing area and huge bathroom. It also had an outside patio area with table and chairs. Felt a lot like home from home and not like staying in a hotel. The furnishings, bedding were excellent and the bed itself ensured that we had a lovely, relaxing nights sleep. Lytham St Annes is so peaceful and the little pier and beach across the road makes for a lovely little trip out.

Now for the food.....absolutely excellent! Being in the service industry myself, I expect very high standards and my family and I were extremely impressed with the quality and service in the restaurant. Food was served promptly, in great portion sizes and piping hot. The extensive sweet table after the evening meal left us spoiled for choice. Breakfast was equally as impressive with so much to choose from. Special mention should be made to the entire staff at the hotel, who obviously work extremely hard to ensure that guests are well taken care of.

If I were to make any critisisms, it would be that the bathroom had no toiletries, which for the cost and type of room, I would expect them to be there. Also, the smell of chlorine from the health club downstairs was overwhelming and at times I was very sensitive to it. However, it didn't bother my husband or young son in the slightest so probably wouldn't bother 99% of the occupants.

All in all, we would definitely come back to the hotel again and would advise anybody with a young family to book too, they had everything you could need.

Have just returned from a 3 night stay in a boutique room. Great sea view and very comfy bed. We had breakfast and evening meals in the hotel and found the food to be fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful and we would have no hesitation in staying there again.
