“A hidden gem on the Ribble Estuary”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

Wanted a hotel convenient to the estuary for walking and birdwatching. It really was convenient you could see the geese from the bedroom window. Spring and autumn is the best time for birds here, as some are always coming or going. At one time there was hundreds and hundreds of geese overhead a truely lovely sight. The hotel was clean and comfy, yes it was a bit dated but how many hotels give you 2 comfy chairs in your bedroom! Most only give one and the unlucky one gets to sit on the bed to watch TV. What is a lovely extra here is the use of a kitchen, with fridge, microwave etc so that you can have toast, soup or whatever (great if you've been for a walk). Blackpool is just a short run up the coast but I would sooner stay in Lytham St Anne's. Its much quieter and a lot better for sleeping. Elsinghurst Hotel is just tucked away nicely on a side road, still get a sea view - BUT NO TRAFFIC NOISE. Breakfast was fine, waitress efficient and food cooked to order (and the cereals were all branded and not the cheap kind). Would we come here again, yes, as the hotel has everything we need.

When we arrived, some guy, who did not say hello or introduce himself, let us in, walked behind the counter, told us our room number and gave us a key. It didn't make a great first impression. The room, whilst clean, looked like it it could do with a good lick of paint, and there was a bit of a smell to the room.
The radiator in our room needed bleeding, as it let no heat in (probably why there was an electric heater in the room too). We also couldn't turn the shower off, and had to get somebody to come and sort it.

It was clean, breakfast was nice, and it's certainly not the worst place I've stayed, but it needs a bit of work on the presentation

Have just returned after a weekend stay at the Elsinghurst Hotel. We were delighted with the Hotel and its facilities and could not fault it in any way. We would certainly use it again on any subsequent visit to St. Annes.

Stayed here and was immediately impressed the owner and his son, made me feel like I was home.
The food was good quality, Colin the owner said he doesn't buy cheap products, you could tell.
The bedroom was clean, comfy and had a flat screen television, tea and coffee tray also. Bathroom was clean and a good size.
Would recommend

I particularly liked the venue for parking, and location. The rooms were clean and comfortable with modern decor and televisions. I also thought the new residents kitchen centrally located gave it a home from home feeling and i used it regularly to prepare snacks and Iron my shirts..
It was well worth the money , would i go back certainly, I don't eat breakfast normally but i went in to see what they offered and decided to have one, Colin the owner is a great cook and nothing was a problem.
