“Great spot between Lytham and St Annes”
Review of Fairhaven Lake

Owner description: Fairhaven Lake is one of the borough's most popular attractions. Nestled between Lytham and St Anne's, a salt water lake, positioned directly on the coast next to Granny's Bay and Stanner Bank. Enjoy the many recreational facilities provided, motorboat, canoe and rowing boat hire. For the less adventurous there is an electrically powered motor launch, enjoy the cruise and enjoy the scenery from the launch on a 10-15 min cruise. Lakeside facilities include a cafe and the RSPB Discovery Centre. The lake is one of the most important wildfowl locations in Europe, with a group of more than 250 Canada Geese, several Swans (including a solitary Black one) and many coots, water hens and other smaller fowl.

Pleasant spot with boats for hire, RSPB centre which does guided bird walks, fishing off the wall facing the sea at high tide and a nice walk round the lake together with cafe and ice creams, excellent family facility highly recomended. In addition the Fairhaven pub opposite has excellent food and real ale, a favorite of ours. You can easily find photos online

An oasis of tranquility on Blackpool's doorstep. Of interest to birders and those who enjoy a short walk around a lake. Nice cafe and interesting RSPB shop with charming staff.

It was wellworth walking around the lake. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the sea and beach. It was interesting to read the plaques with information of the RAF at the airplane situated by the lake. We also enjoyed a 99 Flake from the ice cream and coffee stall :-)

The lake at Fairhaven, has a decent walk around the lake, also has a cafe, bowling greens and tennis courts. Fancy a bit of sailing? you can hire a dinghy, or if you are feeling lazy, a motor boat! there are some shops, and a bird information centre, you can relax by the lake and at the right time of year, watch the Canada Geese and the oh so cute goslings. There are two islands, both of which are nature/bird reserves, and unfortunately are out of bounds to the public. Fancy an Ice Cream? There is a kiosk as you enter the lake area, dog friendly, as long as you clear up after them! Just to the left of the lake entrance is a grassy area which overlooks Granny's Bay. Parking facilities are good, and at the top of the lake area there are steps down to the beach. A very pleasant place to spend a couple of hours, or even longer if you wish!
