This hotel is a little gem. It offers bed and breakfast at a very reasonable price. The rooms we had were very clean and well maintained. Each room had en-suite bathroom facilities. Tea and coffee are available in the rooms. The beds were on the firm side but I did sleep well so no real issue there.

Breakfast is at 9am and was both very good- cereal, grapefruit, prunes and a cooked breakfast with plenty of toast- and well sized.

There is parking outside the hotel and a number of cafes and a cinema is nearby. If you don't opt for the breakfast and dinner option (which I think is seasonal) there is a Toby Carvery opposite. Blackpool is a five minute drive away and not far from Starbeck tram station, although it is a fair walk should you choose to leave your car.

Customer service was exceptionally good. I recommend this hotel for anyone that wants good food and good service for a reasonable price.

If you are looking for a simple, clean, charming little hotel that offers great value, then look no further. Right on the front with a view from the lounge of the sea. I stayed for two nights and found it exactly what I wanted. A good sized bedroom with en-suite and a more than ample breakfast. If you want the best in luxury go to the Hilton. If you want somewhere to stay that gives you great flexibility to enjoy all that coast has to offer then book The Carlton.

Room Tip: If you want a sea view, you will have to ask. Breakfast is served at 0900hrs.

Enjoyed our 3 night break at the carlton, we were given a nice sea view room on the 1st floor, very nice breakfast that kept us going all day and a very frendly helpfull landlady, a bargain at £60 , parking was a bit tight but there is free parking on the road opposite where we left the car for the 3 days.

Stayed here in July 2012, rated as 3 star, more like 2. Let me clarify this hotel is NOT in Lytham St Annes as the website states it is in St Annes, approxmately 3 miles from Lytham. Landlady was very helpful and welcoming thats about the only positive. Room very basic, beds ROCK HARD! and frosted glass door into the bathroom which had no lock so ZERO privacy! And to add insult to injury someone elses hair was in the shower tray YUK! Our window overlooked a brick wall belonging to the hotel next door. Breakfast was at 9am and that was it so no leisurely lie ins! It was also very basic, slice of toast on plate which was straight as opposed to fried bread, and there was no extra to be had it was very strictly controlled as regards to helpings. The hotel served its purpose for our weekend away but I wouldnt stay again.

Our first time in Lytham St Annes and I was impressed - a nice clean town with good pubs and restaurants. Only stayed for one night, but we found the Carlton Hotel to be good value, clean, quiet and a good breakfast. If you get a room at the front the views across the Promenade to the sea are superb! View from side rooms are a little disappointing though.

We stayed here for a long weekend in June. We found the Hotel spotlessly clean, very quiet, and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. Super view from our seaview room. Well worth paying the extra for.

Room Tip: If you can afford pay the extra for a seaview room.
