My friend booked us a table online for my birthday lunch, she asked for a specific table, which when she called was assured she had.
We arrived 5 minutes before our booking to be told it was a 15-20minute wait. We advised them we’d pre-booked. They couldn’t appear to find our booking but seated us anyway.
There was approximately 3 other tables of people, in a large restaurant - no idea why there was a waiting time.
We didn’t get our reserved table, but instead a table beside the toilet.
They walked away without taking a drinks order. After waiting 10 minutes we called someone over to ask for drinks, at which point the couple beside us asked where their drinks were. We received our drinks shortly after.
We were then asked for our food order and when discussing with my friend if she would like to share a bottle of wine, we were hurried along by the waitress to make a decision. We ordered two more drinks.
Our food arrived - However, no drinks.
We asked on two occasions where our drinks were, to be told “they’re on their way”.
The couple beside asked for their coffees (again) they then received the wrong ones.
The food was bland, and meat fatty.
I left half my meal and nobody even asked if everything was ok, which I think the answer was obvious by the amount of food I left.
I’ve never been to gusto before and would never go again based on the rude, slow service and bland food. It’s a shame that a birthday meal with a long distance friend was ruined.
