Wow what a diapointment it turned out to be. 5 of us went for dinner on a quiet night the burger Was dripping with fat and the bacon must have been flashed cooked! On The chicken and
Mushroom pie the pastry was raw and had no sauce in it. The chicken burger was very small and tasted like it had been taken out of the deep fat fryer and plonked onto the roll the salad was not fresh with any of the meals. The ploughmans was not served as stated it lacked flavour. The veg that came with the cottage pie was dripping in water. When this was explained to the staff we got a reply of ok not an apology or anything. We have eaten here before when under old management and could not fault the place staff or food to say this visit was a disappointment is an understatement we will never be returning again

What can I say, food was excellent and great value for money had Bacon and Garlic Mushrooms for starter and Goumet Burger for main course. Could just about move afterwards, you must try the Goumet Burger. Had a good selection of beers including real ales. Staff are really nice and friendly this is a great pub.

Once again this pub is under new managent. Now I know it is hard to make a roast for a large extended window i.e. 12 till 5 but there is no need for the hegira lea to be soggy and the cauliflower, cabbage to tast of water like they have been sitting in it for ever. I chose the pork roast, disapointed that there was no crackling and the pork was more like shredded pork. The whole meal lacked seasoning was was fairly bland. Pity as I was looking forward to a Sunday roast. Considiring I had eaten here the ohther day and the chicken roll was actually very nice.

"If you don't want to TV on loud as I want to watch it, you can drink elsewhere". To be honest we always used to go here from work (approx 100 of us in an office nearby) and it has always been pleasant enough for a twon pub but it seems to currently being looked after by a woman (or is she?) who wouldn't know customer servie if it hit her in the face. I didn't think people actually spoke to each otehr like that anymore. We have put a call into the area manager.
