Be aware that this is on the M1 Northbound - not great if you need to be anywhere from J14 downwards the next morning.

Breakfast was very poor, avoid and go to service station. How, legally, they get away with calling that water with orange bits in it "orange juice" I will never know!

No room service. But free wi-fi is very useful. Very clean and I did have a good night's sleep.

Very average, but no motorway noise really and OK if you just want somewhere to stop on a northbound M1 journey.

Myself, husband and 2 young children stayed here for a night en route to South of England. Lots to do nearby, would need a sat nav though if you aren't sure of the area because it just looks like a services stop around the hotel (we were quite taken aback at the location) but cinema, shopping, nice places to eat if you can find your way about.

Hotel itself had very little staff in, but they were very friendly on the whole. I had to ask for extra cups and cartons of milk as there were only 2 cups (watch out, these are rinsed in the sink in between stays) and there were 4 of us. I had to ask for a bath mat as well at reception. We were given a room on the ground floor but felt unable to keep the windows open at night due to security latch being very flimsy so the overnight sleep was a muggy uncomfortable one. We had a family room with double bed, single bed with pull out and these were clean enough but when we moved the double bed there was a massive unidentifiable stain on the carpet and it obviously hadn' t been hoovered in a long time.

We had a package that included dinner and breakfast. Dinner was a bit of a shambles, server wasnt sure what we were "allowed" to pick off the menu so we just went with a main course and nothing else. Cultery was filthy, comments cards on the table were well fingered and disgusting covered in all manners of sauce. dinner took one hour to come out, despite us being the only diners there. Chips are in great supply, so onto a winner if you like them. The fire alarm went off twice - apparently for no reason at 10:30pm and 8am, spoiling our children's sleep. We were just left to roam about, security seemed completely non existant. Breakfast was an absolute joke. There had obviously been no preperation at all. In the space of 50 minutes I had to ask for juice, milk, bowls, cutlery, eggs, jam, butter, plates. The staff member on had clearly not taken the time to stock up the area with crockery and bowls so half the time was spent hanging about waiting for him to fetch what i needed to have breakfast. If he had done this beforehand maybe things would have gone a little smoother.

If you are looking for somewhere to rest for the night, no frills, this place is better than a travellodge. Just don't expect too much with regards to meals etc.

This hotel was surprising.
- Surprisingly quiet, given its proximity to the M1
- Surprisingly clean
- Surprisingly good value
- Surprisingly large room

The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and had no problem with me changing rooms to a higher floor so I could leave my windows wide open securely. The evening meal was pretty good, but the breakfast betrayed its motorway location.

The bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was well laid-out.

It's not high luxury or for a long stay but as a night's rest to break a journey it was very good value.

Stay in Milton Keynes a lot with business so have stayed in lots of hotels here. Thie is the first time I have stayed at this hotel and was pleasently surprised. Have stayed in hotels that were twice as expensive but were not as good. Room was clean and very quiet, and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Will be staying there again!

We stayed here as this was the venue for a wedding reception. It was £40 for the room and for that I was very impressed. I found the room to be very clean and tidy however the corridors seemed very hot even though it was blazing sunshine outside!? The place is very much like a Travel Lodge type style but it has all the things you would want for a short break. I would say the only drawback to this place was the staff. Thoroughly miserable and not at all welcoming. The receptionist could hardly break into a smile, the cleaners would walk past you and not even say hello. The best was yet to come the following morning - getting up for the breakfast which was included in the £40 - bog standard stuff, nothing special at all. However the member of staff seemed like she really couldnt be bothered and everytime she was asked for something it seemed like you were asking for the world on a plate. The food was very poor, no tables were being cleared and so it certainly wasnt service with a smile. Either way it was cheap and did the job. Wouldnt stay here again by choice though.

This is my third stay at this Welcome lodge in just over a month. On each ocasion there has been a 'booking hiccup' whereby the web offers on their own website haven't always been communicated to the staff on site. This has caused confusion at check in.

This was rectified by prepayment and the reception team searching the database of charging offers on screen.

There are differing grades of rooms here. The budget rooms are mainly facing the car park and are close to motel style with external walkways. However, there are some much better rooms with thick duvets, soft matresses, modern decor and a limited but decent range of tv channels.

If you are booking on an offer, upon arrival check to ensure the offer dosen't specify a budget room and ask for a refurbished room.

I have to say that the cleaners and reception staff all greeted me with a cheery 'hello' and the location of the lodge means that there is easy access to Milton Keynes, M1, the Midlands and South.
