Having a day in Oakham, we wanted somewhere outside to eat so we could enjoy the rare sunshine of the day. Having tried many pubs, we chanced on the Castle Cottage Cafe, and what a find. The cafe is mostly in a beautiful garden, although there are a few tables in side. The choice of food was as expected and the prices justifyable for the lovely surroundings. Tea came in china cups with saucers and there were a good range of cakes, sandwiches and other foods for the hungry.
What sets this apart from other placez is the garden, the joy of having lunch in a garden with others, in anidyllic setting can not be understated.. we left well fed, well watered and with a smile on our faces. Could not ask for more. 10/10.
