“Good Choice”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

We read the other reviews on tripadvisor and decided to give the Wheatsheaf a try. We are glad that we did as the quality of the food was good, it was exactly what you would expect from a good pub. Two members of our group had fish which was not overcooked and still moist inside and the batter was crispy, the other two had steak and ale pie which was homemade, the meat was lean and plentiful and the gravy tasty. The staff were very accommodating and friendly and we would not hesitate to return.

“It's good but just a pub that does food!”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

Excellent menu choices for lunch to suit all tastes. Our food was really tasty and well prepared. Average prices but a major plus is its lack of pretension. The loos wer very clean and a nice touch was the towelling squares to dry your hands on. If in the area, please visit as its very comfortable with nice touches - soft cushions on the benches and chairs.

“Very classy pub food”
Reviewed April 14, 2012

We recently ate at the Wheatsheaf and as we hadn't made a reservation, were lucky to get a table.
We knew nothing about the pubs in this area so were very pleasantly surprised to get such a good meal. The menu was well balanced and everyone in our 3 generation party found something they liked. The cooking and presentation were faultless and it certainly gives the impression that they have a skilled chef who cares about good food.
Do reserve a table!
