Open throughout the year it provides not just a beautiful and enjoyable visit but also somewhere from which to discover a wealth of new ideas for your own garden from any one of the realistically sized 38 gardens waiting to be explored. Smashing place to visit, beautiful if slightly worn gardens lots of great ideas. The entrance fee is very good value. We went on a nice warm sunny day all the flowers were beautiful and there was lots of scent on the air. the staff are very knowledgeable and really helpful. we really enjoyed being able to wander around freely. the seating in the garden is great it really allows you to appreciate the gardena when you can sit and linger for a short while in them. the nursery is good, the plants are nicely looked after and not overpriced. It is a really great tribute to Geoffrey Hamilton who was one of our favourite presenters on Gardeners world.

Good place to get ideas for your own garden as they have lots of small feature gardens. They don't serve breakfast in the summer, but do in the winter. Worth a visit, followed by a trip up the road to the Hambleton Bakery, which is also open on a Sunday.

I was very disappointed on my recent visit, the gardens are nice enough but it would help if all the plants had there name in front of them or a display board with the name of the plants in the bed so that you can write it down and then when you get to the shop you know what your looking for, as I visited on a Sunday and there was no one to ask any questions of. Once in the garden shop yes the plants are all named but surely a photo of what they look like would help so people have some idea of what they are buying. Yes the little café was ok but I thought lacked in choice and was rather expensive for what it offered.

Friendly staff, nice café (fabulous Victoria sponge). Gardens were absolutely beautiful. Stayed for over 2-3 hours wandering about - quite different to other gardens I have visited, with the many small gardens all mingled together - gives a great effect.

Well worth a visit, lots of different garden designs in one area and plenty of seats to relax and enjoy the flowers and plants. Very nice tea room too, what more do you need for an enjoyable visit.
