Used this company for a family & friends 2 day canoeing trip a couple of years ago, and friends one day canoeing last year. For the 2 day trip we received adequate safety instruction and were given all the equipment we did not have ourselves eg lifejackets, barrels etc. The owner also gave us good advice on what was doable with our mixed age bunch and where to stop for meals, picnics and camping. We were a bit late turning up on the day but he wasnt fazed, he just dropped us off at a lower starting point on the wye to account for our lost time and we accepted his advice. The Wye is a very scenic river and is best when it is a bit warm and the river is lower so the kids can paddle a bit. We camped at Hoarwithy(harp inn field) and were allowed a BBQ here (we had left a car here with tents and BBQ stuff) then had lunch the next day in Ross-on-Wye (Riverside Inn is used to canoeists dropping in). We ended up at the canoe point at Kerne Bridge just next to Wye pursuits. Overall we had a good experience and felt the company was well run, and other friends we have sent to this company for canoeing have had a similar positive review. We have not done anything else with them eg abseiling (not into rope dangling!) but expect that they would have good safety standards for this also.
