We stayed here for a long weekend in October and had a great time. We were in a large group and so had several rooms, all of which were lovely. We had a triple room to accommodate two adults and one child and it was huge, really nicely decorated and very clean. The food was also fantastic. everyone in the group was really happy with all aspects of our stay. Thanks to all the staff for being so friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again if we come to Ross in the future.

Arrived quite early to find reception unattended. Despite ringing bell no one arrived. Eventually was given key to room.

The Hotel is situated in the town with its own car park access to which is through a narrow archway. The room was very good, on the second floor. The stairs must be original ad they are winding and uneven. The wood beams all add to the character of this hotel. although a tad expensive for what it was.
Room 14 was on the road frontage. Partial secondary glazing removed the potential of noise. Very comfortable bed. The ensuite shower was great. Must have been recently upgraded as it had a walk in power shower which was brilliant.

The bar and restaurant were very popular. The local beers were tasty and the food Devine.all the food is sourced from local suppliers as shown on the menu boards. It is also clear they understand the issues around gluten free products. Great service from all the staff.

There is free wifi but it is not in all areas and I had several drop outs.

Well worth a stay

Hotel right in the centre of Ross on Wye. The hotel does state not suitable for people with mobility problems because of steep staircases and no lifts. Hotel has lots of character and had been refurbished, bathrooms were modern and well equipped. Ate in the restaurant one night and had an excellent meal. Would definitely stay again.

We only used the restaurant here but what a treat it was. The prices are a little off putting but the quality is unquestionable. The service was lovely and the atmosphere an absolute delight. Keep an eye out for the windows in the floor which are viewing points for caverns and caves below.

Didn't stay overnight, wish we had rather than where we stayed... but ate in the restaurant on a friend's recommendation... We were well impressed with the standard of the food.. gorgeous,. they managed to make even the fish and chips really top class!! The menu was really unusual, full of sumptuous goodies, and difficult to choose what to have. It was busy with a lovely calm atmosphere, the tables were laid very nicely, and the whole night was very enjoyable. Would consider staying there in future, and there was a lovely big doggie in the bar too so right up my street.. pet friendly!

Room Tip: definitely eat here, a very enjoyable experience, better than any 'pub grub' I have ever ex...

Spent one night here over August bank holiday. Booking in not allowed too early. Had to come back later when room ready, which was right at the top of two stair cases but not a bad size room. Power shower in en suite. Clean. Ate in the restaurant at night, food good and reasonable. Breakfast included and also good. Good value. Lively in the bar at night and central location to shops and walk around river. Enjoyable.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are really pleased you enjoyed your short stay with us. We are sorry your room was not quite ready when you arrived. Guests are always most welcome to check in before our standard time of 2.30pm, if of course their room is ready. As check out is 11am and it takes over an hour to properly service a room it's just not possible to have every room ready early. We do strongly recommend that anyone planning to arrive early asks for an early check in, well in advance, so that we can prioritise their room. To 100% guarantee a room being available before 2.30, we recommend booking the prior night. We can often offer a discount on the room rate for two night stays, if booked direct with the hotel. Thank you again

Stayed here on route between meetings. The Hotel is nicely situated in the town with its own carpark. The room we had was very good, on the first floor although a tad expensive for what it was. The hotel/pub has been around for a while so some nice wood beams etc. Floors creaked but that only added to the character & charm.

Food was excellent with good size portions & the beer even better.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a table if you want to eat at the hotel.
