“Perfect hideaway for a relaxing break”

The location of this property was excellent. We were surrounded by beautiful scenery, off the beaten track. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy, with all the facilities needed for a successful break. The hosts, Carol and Barry, were extremely friendly and accommodating, but not intrusive.

There is lots to see in the local area and the scenery is stunning.

Overall we had a fantastic time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.

“Our fifth stay here - we love the location, the accommodation and the warm, friendly, helpful and un-intrusive hosts.”
Reviewed March 8, 2017 for a stay in February 2017

The Roost is situated in a very peaceful, rural area; perfect for walking and also very accessible for visiting a number of towns, villages and attractions. The accommodation is immaculately clean, well equipped, cosy and has beautiful views from every window. Carol and Barry the lovely hosts are nearby but not at all intrusive, and do everything possible to ensure guests are comfortable and have all they need. We highly recommend, and will definitely continue to keep going back.

“Enchanting escape”
Reviewed November 11, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

The Roost is an enchanting escape from the chaos of everyday life. It's set in fabulous countryside with lovely walks, places of interest, pubs and restaurants all around. What made it even more perfect was the wonderfully warm welcome from the charming hosts who have thought of everything in this light and cosy flat. We definitely recommend it and will be back!!

“Fantastic hosts, brilliant location”
Reviewed October 17, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Perfect place to get away from everyday life. The location of the Roost is brilliant, far enough away from the nearby towns and villages to be very peaceful, close enough that a 10 minute car ride will get you to shops and tourist attractions. Kitchen is brilliantly equipped, spacious living room and plenty of storage space. We throughly enjoyed our stay, made all the better by Carol and Barry, our wonderful hosts. The local area is beautiful, great for short and longer walks. The nearby Goodrich Castle, Butterfly Museum, Birds of Prey Centre (Newent), Clearwell Caves, and further afield Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle all worth a visit. Stacks of information at the apartment, many more places that could be explored. Would definitely recommend staying here.

“Lovely relaxing time”
Reviewed September 9, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We both were so happy to get away from our 5 year old child. The accommodation is clean and modern, and most importantly our hosts Barry and Carol, left us too our own devises for our three day stay.
Any-one who can not enjoy staying at such a beautiful location should just stay at home.

Thanks Carol and Barry..

“A very clean, comfortable and attractive apartment.”
Reviewed August 26, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The Roost at Vine Tree is a lovely place to stay. The hosts, Carol and Barry , are very welcoming and helpful. The apartment has beautiful views and is very quiet and relaxing. Everything was very clean. The bathroom and kitchen are modern and attractive. The lounge /dining room is spacious and comfortable. The pretty bedroom has an adjoining dressing room with lots of hanging space. A real treat! There is a huge cupboard/ small room which is great for storing away luggage, hiking boots etc. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our week at The Roost and would stay again. Oh, and it now has WiFi !
