“very poor food”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

the actual room was excellent, however the evening meal and breakfast was very poor, more quantity over quality, in fact the meals were terrible, they need to re-think their current supplier, in fact i would suggest using local food instead.

Rooms and bathroom better than some other premier inns. Larger wall mounted TV and bathroom updated but small. Room in full sun when we arrived and two large fans on room already. There is no air movement as windows only open a small distance. Choose or ask for a room at the rear in hot weather.

Once again we have to complain about the poor design of bedrooms in Premier Inns and other drop in hotels. In the recent hot weather room temperatures exceeding 25C made a very uncomfortable stay, The provision of two electric fans only helped to move the hot air around as the window would only open at an angle hinged from the bottom to about 15 cm wide. Shower needs care as there are no grab handles to negotiate the high bath.
Bed, furnishings and facilities were excellent and the whole would be good value in mild weather.

Stayed for 2 nights. Comfortable, clean room but far too hot even though 2 fans were provided. I could not hear the TV over the fans as the TV has a fixed volume control. The shower was totally inadequate it was either faulty or the water pressure was poor. Not the usual standard I experience from this chain of hotels.

We stayed here for two nights during June in a first floor room. The location is good ,just off the dual carriageway. The staff were all very pleasant and tried to be helpful, arranging bookings for the Beefeater next door. The room was very clean and comfortable, the only thing lacking was a shaving point. It was quite warm in the room(a ground floor room might be cooler),but two fans were provided so we slept OK .On one occasion we needed to use the internet but could not access it.I went to the desk and was told it was not working.
We enjoyed two evening meals at the Beefeater but breakfast was disappointing ,the advertized options were not available.
Overall,a good budget hotel but breakfast should have been included for the price we paid.

Room Tip: Try a good B&B instead.

We stayed in a twin room at the premier inn at Ross-on-Wye and it was clean and well maintained, however the wi-fi did not work so we were unable to find directions to our next destination, the beds were very hard and uncomfortable and the single in the twin room was so uncomfortable that we both ended up sleeping in the double bed however the fact that there was a choice of pillows was nice. We also found that after you have had to pay additional money for breakfast and Internet it is no longer good value and becomes more expensive than many private hotels that are of equal quality
