“Warm stay!!!”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

My wife and I stayed at this Premier Inn for two nights and found the room extremely warm, even though we had both of the fans that were in the room going full time and the window open as far as it would go. We were surprised that as it had been recently refurbished, air conditioning had not been installed.
Having had my gripe about the heat, the room itself was clean and comfortable and even had a large screen TV installed. The staff were all excellent and friendly and the hotel is in an excellent location, ideal for exploring the area around Ross-on-Wye.
We found the restaurant to be very busy most of the time and even more so on the Sunday we arrived. It took ages just waiting to be served in the bar and even though we booked a table for our evening meals we still had to wait some time to be seated. We found the food not to be very good and more expensive than other attached Premier Inn restaurants but found the hard working staff to be very attentive.
Although we found the room to be very warm I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again because the location is great and staff welcoming.

Room Tip: As the hotel has no lift, if you have mobility problems try to get a ground floor room. If using the...

Clean and comfortable with restaurant attached out of town but handy to all attractionsWe asked for a ground floor room --no lift --staff are very helpful and friendly.

The room is a standard Premier style room this hotel lacked a shaver power point (not that I needed it) also the clothes rail ran from the front to the back and not across as would normally be expected.

Room Tip: If travelling with a lot of luggage ask for a ground floor room

I know its cheap and it is a 'stage coach inn' and we had stayed here before but this time I wish we hadn't. The room was too hot and the bed was soft such that it was a race to the middle.
In fact we wondered whether we had stayed before ...

Thank you for your review.

It really matters to us that our guests have a comfortable nights sleep, and we sincerely apologise that on this occasion we failed to provide this.

We are well aware of the issue of high room temperatures, and are currently in the process of installing air conditioning into all of our hotel branches.

However, this will be a lengthy process, so in the meantime the management team at the hotel have done all they can to help reduce room temperatures.

Please be assured all your comments have been noted and will be fully investigated.

Once again thank you for your review, we look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn in the future.

The room was lovely clean and bright. The bed was comfy and we had a lovely quiet nights sleep. The thing that we were most disappointed in was the food. We ordered Nachos, and 6oz burgers with new potatoes and salad. The nachos had everything thrown on to them, the burgers were burnt and the barbecue sauce had already been placed on the onion rings and put ontop of the burger. The condiments and cutlery arrived after the food. The only thing that was ok was the potatoes. The bill was £27. definitely not worth it. Its a shame because our stay was so nice and the food ruined it. Will go again but definitely not to eat there.

Often Stay in Premier Inns throughout the country. First time at this one. Always a nice welcome from all the staff. We asked to change or room from a ground floor to first, that was no problem. The room very clean, and has everything needed for a few nights stay. This hotel has been refurbished to a good standard.. After a meal in the adjacent ‘Beefeater’ just wanted to relax and watch TV. They have large flat screen televisions that add to the comfort. Next morning had Continental breakfast in the Beefeater it was just OK. But could do with slightly larger plates for your toast Etc. Will use Premier Inns again.

We chose his hotel after reading reviews on TripAdvisor, particularly noting that it had recently been refurbished - and it was worth it! The hotel is situated set just back from the main road into Ross, so nice and convenient and easy to find. As always with PI's the staff were brilliant without exception which really makes the difference at the end of a long day's driving! Lovely room facing the fields behind the hotel so it was free from traffic noise and streetlights, marvellously comfortable bed. Only problem was that it was such a warm room, even with the window open - 25 degrees - the two fans in the room should've been a clue. Adjusting the thermostat didn't work and neither of the fans were particularly quiet for sleeping with it running.

Otherwise yet another great stay at a Premier Inn!
