We travelled from Yorkshire to meet London friends and found everything about Orles Barn to be welcoming - all the staff are charming. Kerry chatted to us like old friends, and couldn't have done more to please us. The reception room is comfortable, the dining room light and airy, the bathrooms excellent and the bedrooms are a delight. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. A mile from Ross, this an excellent base to explore glorious countryside and lovely market towns, or if you are in the area already, to enjoy an evening dinner. With all good wishes to the staff for every well deserved success. Thank you for a memorable weekend.

The property is just on the outskirts of Ross on Wye and whilst very close to the main A40, the double glazing prevented any disturbance from traffic noise. We stayed in the D'Arcy Spice suite which was absolutely delightful (apart from a noisy bathroom fan which took ages to turn off). The restaurant and bar areas have been tastefully re-furbished and overlook a large garden space. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a lovely breakfast. Really good value for money.

Room Tip: Our suite was excellent but from other comments it seems all rooms are very good.

When my husband and I arrived we were not particularly impressed with front appearance and garden, however once we stepped through the doors its was lovely - bedroom was fabulous as was the hospitality - nothing was any trouble and information about site seeing was very good. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Orange Pippin room with huge bath............. plus shower room

Recently stayed here and meant to review much sooner but could not let the visit go by without letting other potential guests know what a wonderful stay we had.

A warm welcome welcome from the owners who couldnt have been more helpful.

We stayed in the suite 'Pixie Apple', a lovely room that overlooks the front and rear of the property, the bath is in an alcove at one end and there is a seperate shower in an ensuite. The room was spotless and the only criticism would be that some kind of towel rail would be handy near the bath.

We ate in the restaurant and I can only describe the food as superb, all three courses were absolutely delicious and the breakfast the following morning was equally as good.

If you are considering staying or dining here dont hesitate.

We have just returned from night away here. What a smashing place ! We took our dog and therefore didn't expect to get the lovely suite we had seen pictures of, but we did ! Pixie Apple Suite - we had a huge comfy bed, a slipper bath with a starlit ceiling -you can angle the TV so that you can watch your favourite programme whilst supping tea (or champagne)in the bath ! A separate dressing room, lovely selection of teas and real coffee - really comfortable. We also had dinner here which was fabulous too. The staff were genuinely friendly, the food exceptionally tasty and the dining room stylish . It was a quality but informal experience. Breakfast in the morning was pretty good too..... On both menus there were lists of the local businesses who supply the various ingredients - good to see.
All of us ( I include our dog) felt very welcome and comfortable. And do not be put off by the location, it is close to the A40 , but once you are inside you are oblivious to it.

Room Tip: Pixie Apple Suite was lovely ! We did see a regular room which was furnished just as nicely, it was...

We stayed here for two nights, the staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate here for both nights as the food was excellent. We requested a family room and also advised them that we had a small dog, this was no problem as they had a suite to accommodate both our requests. If we go back to Ross-on-Wye we will certainly stay here again.

We stayed in the Pixie Apple suite for our first anniversary, and it was just delicious. A roll top bath in the room with a starlit ceiling above, which I used twice! A lovely separate dressing room, gorgeous beams, huge queen size bed, sofa and so much space. It was lovely and quiet with lovely views, and the decor was so simple and serene. We both agreed it was the nicest room we'd ever stayed in. Breakfast was fab; I opted for pancakes with maple syrup and my husband went for the full English. Everything was laid out and presented beautifully. We ate in the Bistro Mondo in Ross, which was also very nice. I've told my husband I'd be happy to go back there on any anniversary, please! We wanted to have afternoon tea, but would have to have booked that the day before, so make sure you so so in advance if you fancy that. Booked through booking.com the suite was £140 instead of £180 on the hotel's website.

Room Tip: All rooms are fab but the suites are that bit more luxurious, I think.
