Description: The Crown is a 15th Century family run traditional village pub with newly refurbished letting rooms. We served freshly cooked foods that are locally sourced where possible and offer great value. We specalise in home cooked foods, not bought in microwaved meals, from our chips to our soups & pies, our extra large Yorkshire Puds and our house special bread & butter pudding with marmalade & grouse whisky. We offer a really warm welcome and are both child & pet friendly. We can boast 3 real fires in the Winter and two garden areas in the Summer, two bar areas (one for pool & darts) and a seperate Lounge. We think theres somthing for everyone at The Crown....come & see?

“One to miss”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

Having noticed new signs and decorations at The Crown we decided to try it for lunch, what a mistake, we nearly walked straight back out and with hindsight wished we had.

The inside decor was very shoddy, we felt as if we were sitting in an old peoples home and it all felt a bit grubby. It was badly finished with patches of plaster missing from the walls and pink 1970's bathroom tiles used on the floor to fill the gap of missing flagstones. I guess they were going for the vintage look, but with an abundance of sticky plastic lace table cloths and charity shop nick-naks it was more tacky than retro.

We were greeted by 'all the staff out the back having a fag', with the smell of smoke wafting through the open back door into the bar. We were handed an illegible sandwich menu, made our choices and paid, only to be told ten minutes later that they didn't have either item ordered.

When the meals arrived, they were OK, nice warm par baked rolls obviously freshly cooked, although the cutlery and plates looked like they needed a good wash! We ate up and left as fast as we could.

“Certainly worth a visit!”
Reviewed May 25, 2012

Just returned from a three day stay at The Crown with friends. We were very impressed with the friendliness and welcome we received. Bedrooms were immaculate and beds very comfortable. My husband and I did not have an en-suite in our room but did have our own personal bathroom adjacent to our room. Food was good and breakfast excellent. Certainly set us up for the day!
We will certainly be returning in the near future.

“Delectable Food, Affable Staff and a Vivacious Atmosphere!”
Reviewed May 13, 2012

'A traditional country pub that does food.' A seemingly fitting description of The Crown from the landlord, yet in truth, an undeniable exemplification of modesty. Having arrived after a long arduous day on the rugby pitch, the sole aim of our visit was to celebrate with a steak, washed down by a couple of pints of real ale. We were more than satisfied. In terms of ambience, the pub had a great character about it, the crackling of the fire alongside the constant buzz of conversation offered a welcoming space for both drinkers and dinners to enjoy. As to the food, the T bone steak which I ordered was cooked exactly to my wishes and served by an exceptionally attentive waitress. The portions were generous, the quality outstanding, a wholly wonderful pub not to be overlooked!

“Outstanding”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

Called late at the Crown on Easter Sunday. Had Roast Beef Dinner, excellent range of vegetables, cooked just the way I like. Generous portion of beef, roast potatoes, roast parsnip, peas, carrots, cauliflower and cabbage together with Yorkshire Pudding. Excellent value and well worth driving from Swansea.
