“Lack of communication!”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

I stayed one night at The Chase Hotel with two colleagues on a recent business trip. We were given three rooms on the first floor, which turned out to be immediately above the function room. Having gone into the town for the evening we returned to the Hotel to find a wedding disco in full progress. This went on until just after midnight, which wouldn't have been a great problem had the three of us not needed to make a very early start the following day!
The following morning led to the realisation that the hotel was not particularly full, so we could easily have been allocated alternative rooms further away from the function room had we been aware in advance of the entertainment. One mention of the wedding party by the receptionist when we checked in during the evening could have avoided what was a very disturbed night with little sleep.
A complaint to the duty manager the following morning resulted in a reasonable discount on the bill and the hearty breakfast did something to recover the experience, but this stay could have been so much better.

We were travelling back to Mid Wales and wanted to stop for lunch. We called here and had an excellent lunch at their restaurant called "Harry's".The food was delicious and the portions were generous to say the least. We will remember this place when we are in the area again.

The hotel was well worth it's three stars. we have just returned from a few days stay at the hotel could not fault the service the room was large and spotless it had great view overlooking the gardens. breakfast was well cooked and plenty on offer. we did not eat dinner at the hotel as it was a bit on the pricey side for us, but Ross on Wye had lots of eating places to choose from. We will stay at the Chase Hotel there again when in the area

We had room 31 it was not a nice room. It was small , like a single , the bed was an uncomfortable 4th 6inches and just fitted in the room. The window was tiny and looked at a wall decor was bleak dated worn and not good value at £82. Don't accept this room' can't imagine there was a worst one. The building is impressive when you enter with some nice period features and located in attractive grounds, but this is not carried through to rooms, premier Inn rooms are better standard. However, on a positive note the bathroom was immaculately clean and staff pleasant.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view with a decent bed!

Spent one night here on a dinner, B & B package and was very pleased with the our stay. The hotel is basic but serves good quality food and is ideally placed for visiting the lovely market town of Ross. The food was very high quality and was hot and plenty of it the staff too were helpful and friendly. Would recommend and would certainly return.

Room Tip: maybe pay that bit extra and upgrade

We spent two nights at the Chase and found it a very pleasant experience. The staff were very attentive and helpful without being over bearing. The twin room no.6 was large and comfortable with a large ensuite bathroom with jaccusi. the food was good but we found the buffet breakfast good but on the cool side.
The hotel is situated in lovely surroundings set in its own grounds with ample car parking.
We would definately stay here again if we come to Ross.

Ww stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends. The staff were all very friendly. Room was comfortable and clean with a lovely view of the beautiful gardens. Restaurant was very good even though as there was a function on at the hotel, the bar staff were rather flustered. Beefs tws excellent. Would definitely return.
