“Great service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2013 via mobile

We booked this overnight stay to attend a local wedding, we don't usually book a B&B, usually preferring to go for a larger hotel. The Raglan House was excellent with room facilities being as good, if not better than many large chain hotels we have stayed at before. The room was spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable bed, large soft towels, free wifi, tea and coffee making facilities as well as biscuits and cup cakes in the room for us. The owner could not have been more helpful, he went out of his way to ensure our stay was a positive experience, supplying telephone numbers for local taxi companies. The only slight negative was the lack of private parking, however there are plenty of local car parks as well as parking outside on the street which was unrestricted after 5.30pm and all day on Sundays. The breakfast choice was plentiful, with good quality food and drink and was served in the connecting tea room, which is open 7 days a week. We did not feel rushed to vacate the room. I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B for an overnight stay in the area.

This B&B was attractive due to its central location. Parking could be a pain because of its town centre location but I managed fine for an overnight stay.
The rooms are large, clean and well appointed (sorry sounds like an estate agent).
Breakfast had an interesting menu, different from a lot of accommodation I have stayed in.
Host very helpful but not over the top. I felt very relaxed in the building which is on many levels.
Only downside was I somehow managed to hit the time when the hot water tank was empty so endured a very cool bath. ( should have mentioned it at the time but I was too tired).
The host sorted out a mix up regarding rooms on booking.com very much to my satisfaction which was reassuring.
Overall a great place to stay

Room Tip: If you worry about main street noise stay at the back.

Thank you for your review. Sorry about your bath running cool. It must have been a heavy demand.
In response I have adjusted the boiler timings to winter settings which should work.

A home away from home! Everything was perfect, we stayed for one night and really felt at home. Our room was large and spacious, very clean with great character and modern fixtures and fittings. We had a full english breakfast included and the location is perfect we were in ross for a friends wedding and couldn't have asked for a nicer and more comfortable place to stay much prefer giving business to a local family run business

We stayed here as our son was rowing at Ross Regatta. We chose Raglan House after looking at Tripadvisor. We were very pleased with our choice. Good Town Centre location, quick, easy and pleasant walk to the river. Very comfortable bed and room. We had a bedroom at the back of the property and it was quiet. The breakfast was excellent and there was a wide range of choice. Owner Bob was helpful and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this B&B.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night after a wedding nearby. Incredibly friendly staff (who arranged an early check-in for us) and a large, comfortable room made ours a very enjoyable stay. Great location for a wander around Ross or down to the river. Oh and the breakfast was fantastic. Would definitely stay again.

This is a really comfortable B and B. Right in the middle of Ross on Wye. It was a bit noisy in the late evening with people in the street shouting, but this is inevitable in such a central location.Normally with the windows closed this would not be a problem as they are double glazed but due to the hot weather the room was really warm and we had the windows open. We were offed a fan, and if we were staying longer I would have asked for a top sheet on the bed as the duvet was really warm! All the beds were fine, nice linen etc and very clean. Good wifi connection. Great selection of breakfast served by the lovely Bob, who should be as thin as a stick insect with all the running up and down the stairs he must do! I would recommend this definitely for a short stay in this area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back if you think you would have the windows open. Bob is amazing at answering...

The room I stayed in was of a comfortable size, I booked a double bed but it was actually two single beds put together. I could park outside the door of an evening with no parking charges which was ideal for me as I was busy during the day and didn't need to be there.
It was quite hot and humid when I stayed but the room were not bad considering this, I think the room would of benefited from a fan and a small fridge as all my drinks were warm be it day or night. I know the weather in the UK is not always like this and providing these items may not be feasible.

The price per night was reasonable for the area, the wifi in the room was pretty fast which is always nice to have. Large selection for breakfast and it was also a good standard.
If I am in Ross in the future I will most probably stay here again.
