“No strange creatures here!”

Delightful set meal for two, with a bottle of Gurkha beer. The owner and his wife at front-of-house providing a lovely welcome and good, friendly service. Delicious Nepalese curry with 'all the trimmings'.

“Best Nepalese restaurant west of Pokhara”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2013

Great find! Most unexpected to find such a good Nepalese/Tibetan/Thai(!) eatery in Ross. Good atmosphere, friendly service, reasonable price. Decor takes me straight back to my trips to Nepal.

“Lovely food, lovely service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

We went as a party of 4 for lunch here today as a change from the usual pub lunch, and I'm really glad we did.

It wasn't busy since we went pretty soon after they'd opened for the lunchtime service so the atmosphere was subdued, but with the cushioned low seating area at the back of the restaurant as an alternative to the more traditional tables and chairs seating at the front, I suspect this place would have a great relaxed atmosphere in the evenings.

The service was really friendly and welcoming, the drinks were good (try the Gurkha beer) and the food was fantastic. We had the Momo (both fried and steamed) together with the satay chicken and deep fried squid for starters and some of the flavours were unlike anything I'd tasted before - stunning, especially the Momo.

For mains we had the Kathmandu curry (lamb and pork, both hot) together with side dishes of saffron rice, Aloo kerau and Aloo chana - both fantastic. We also had the amazing Spicy chicken steak which to be honest was the best thing on the table!

The bill came to around £25 per head inclusive of 3 beers, a bottle of very acceptable house white and the tip so excellent value for money.

Do yourself a favour - try them out and support a restaurant run by friendly people who are serving some unique and delicious food.

“Totally unexpected gem of a place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013

Thoroughly enjoyable meal. Momos for starters outstanding and a chicken that had flaked rice with it sorry ignorance means i forgot the name that also tasted great. The main were different to anything I have had before and again excellent. Dont judge a place by its surroundings judge it by the food. Try the Gurkha beer. The staff are friendly. Competitively priced.
