Guyscliff has many good points including the best cutlery drawer in the business. Recently it is starting to look rather unloved and tired. The range is going rusty and one of the oven doors will not close. The rubbish bin has certainly seen better days.
When we arrived the heating had been turned off and the house was damp, musty smelling and horribly cold. We could not bath the baby because it was so cold and had to make a phone call to get some heating put on. This is the second time this has happened. I can understand that the owners wish to minimise heating costs but the dampness throughout the property makes lack of heating very unpleasant for guests. The iron has a broken top for years and the clothes airier is virtually unusable. Items like this cost very little and mean so much. I had to buy my own bowl for the sink. Guyscliffe has great potential but someone needs to give it a little TLC.
