We ended up eating here twice for 2 evening meals. You have to book otherwise you might be disappointed. It was the best two meals we had all week in Salcombe and I would really recommend it. Staff were lovely and the menu was fantastic. Unusually, it wasn't a small menu for a place that did the most fantastic food. Everything we had was superb. Chicken was cooked to perfection and my wife enjoyed her fish and seafood. Oh, and the chips, well, u just have to have chips. I can't eat a chip again as they were so good.

The restaurant is on two floors, but it is quite small; this adds to the busy atmosphere and intimacy..you are cheek by jowl with other diners. The blackboard specials are mainly fish and are a chef's triumph, beautifully and imaginatively cooked and with really generous portions. The service is brisk and very friendly and the wine list has some real quality. The crab starters were lovely and the lobster bisque with roasted locally caught fish as delightful on the palette as it was on the eye. All in all a very, very nice dining experience.

What a lovely little restaurant tucked away in an alley just off Salcombe High St. There are 2 floors to the restaurant but it is advisable to book a table, as it does fill up very quickly. We visited twice during our week in Salcombe, and the food and service was excellent on both occasions. I plumped for the Goan Monkfish curry with boiled rice, and it was by far and away the best monkfish curry i had ever had. My wife also had monkfish, but this dish was wrapped in parma ham, and she too thought it was fantastic. The restaurant is in an alley way opposite the "Coast" store, and does have a sign promoting it. Check it out, i am sure you wont be disappointed.

Visited this on a Monday evening having found it tucked away up an alley the previous evening when it was shut. The photo of the premises is not the one shown above which may be confusing!!
The restaurant downstairs is cosy and was full and buzzy with a good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful and a restricted gluten and dairy free diet was no problem.
I had a starter and main and hubby also had dessert. All were excellent.
I would highly recommend a visit if in Salcombe.
