“Great venue for gigs”

Just been to my first gig at the Tavistock Wharf, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Capacity is 400, but I reckon there were a lot more to see Uriah Heep on 24/02/13. Very similar to the Exeter Phoenix in layout (if you know it). Modern well equipped venue, great sound, and they attract some big acts, not just tribute bands. Well worth the effort to get there.
Spacious lounge and bar area, cheerful staff, and drinks not overpriced, which is indeed unusual in a venue like this.
Barbeque was laid on outside, and on a warm evening this would be really lovely, as there are tables and chairs to sit at, on a grassy area, right by the canal. My only grizzle is that the barbeque could be more imaginative (only burgers, sausages and bacon on offer), and the 2 teenagers cooking REALLY didn't want to be there. Still, I wont let a couple of grumps spoil my review of the place, I will certainly return , next time there is a band worth seeing live.

This place is used as a cafe/bar/cinema/gig venue.
Not great as a cinema as the space for your knees is severely limited (I'm short and it's still an issue) but the place is a great initimate venue for gigs. There are always live tribute bands here along with local acts

We enjoy going here to see the films. Always quiet which isn't so good for the Wharf but nice for us. Shame about the elderly couple eating their sandwiches behind us... and they blame the youngsters! Have seen some good shows too.

Went to see gig by Hugh Cornwell (rock/punk). This venue is the ideal size, not too big and not too small. Easy access to bar and outside space should you need a break. Great sound quality. You can choose to sit or stand, which is a great idea. Food limited but looked good (BBQ served outside in interval).
