I love the atmosphere inside Browns and we could not fault the service. Food is good and well presented but we were a little taken aback at the cost. The fine dining menu is minimalist with a choice of 4 starters and mains all of which carry a hefty price tag. We ordered belly pork and wood pigeon both were £24 but you then needed to order sides dishes so £4.95 for a dish containing 4 new potatoes and £3.95 for a little dish of carrots and Brussels so even if you share the sides a main course alone is £28.50. The restaurant was busy and clearly diners were happy but there are other lovely places to eat in and around Tavistock that are kinder on the wallet so maybe my return visits will be reserved for the cream teas!
