I booked into the Rockmount not knowing what to expect, I normally stay in Premier Inn's when I am away on business but this hotel really did knock the spots off it, the rooms are impeccably clean, furnished to a very high standard and the service was excellent.
Hope to return soon.

We stayed at Rockmount at the end of October. The house is so convenient for restaurants in Tavistock, you can walk everywhere. We stayed in the Garden Cabin. It was well equiped for self catering and the bed was very comfortable indeed. It rained while we were there but in the summer you could sit outside on the decking with a great view of Tavistock. The welcome was great and when we left we were shown the other rooms in the main house. They are all excellently decorated in black and white with nice touches like nespresso machines. Will definately stay again if we are in the area.

We spent two nights in the Garden Cabin at Rockmount. We work up to fabulous views of the church and not even torrential rain could spoil the stay. The Garden Cabin is a beautifully presented space, with its own self catering facilities and much more. It is totally secluded from the main house and ideal for a romantic getaway or special celebration. As ever, nothing was too much trouble for Tony (the owner) and his creativity and attention to detail, in our opinion, makes the Rockmount the best B&B in Tavistock.

We stayed at the Rockmount for 2 nights last week and could happily have stayed longer. Everything about the Rockmount was excellent - the location, the room and the service were second to none. We were travelling with our small dog and were all made to feel more than welcome with nothing feeling like it was too much effort! The standard of finish in the room itself was extremely high and I wanted to take the shower home with us! As others have said, breakfast was pre-ordered the evening before and delivered to the room bang on time (and with a smile). The choice was excellent and the food really well cooked - eating in the room wasn't an issue at all, in fact it made a nice change and meant the other half could lounge about in his PJs for longer!! We are regular visitors to Tavistock and feel sure we will be back!

We have just returned after spending 3 nights at Rockmount. We were upgraded to the Garden Cabin and were so pleased to have the opportunity to do a little self catering. We were also shown around the other rooms in the main house before leaving and they are superb. Large beds, lovely bathrooms, all with a modern black and white theme. The bed, duvet and pillows were the most comfortable we have slept in for a long time. Tavistock is a great place to visit and there are some good restaurants within walking distance. Look forward to returning when the Conservatory has been added.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms are larger and have double aspect windows.

We stayed two nights at the Rockmount, and on our arrival was impressed with Location and access for parking. The owner was very pleasant and gave us a friendly informal welcome which was great start.
We had booked two rooms and was given the option of which rooms were would like to stay in, My mother chose for the ground floor and me, my wife and little Lydia stayed in the large bedroom upstairs. We found the room to be very clean and modern with a very boutique feel to it. All the amenities were present and we were provided with a travel cot. The Owner of the B&B made our experience worth it, a great sense of humour, made you feel relaxed and would go out of his way to help with any issues we would have. This included letting us borrow an umbrella for the entire night whilst we were at a wedding not knowing what state of mind we would come back in. In all we have a fantastic weekend this was made better knowing that all the other guests at the wedding were staying at the Browns hotel for twice the price with half the room size. The only bit of constructive criticism was the location to the road, with respect the pavement on the other side. With a pram we did find it difficult to cross the road as the entry is on a slight bend. But to be honest we just walked further up the road to fid a safe place to cross and then walked down. In all we had a great weekend and better for finding Rockmount B&B.

We stayed for two nights and found this B&B to be perfect for our needs – clean, modern and fresh with a friendly welcome. An easy walk to the town centre (note it’s an uphill walk on the way back), the location is close to the shops and entertainment that Tavistock offers. It's also a very handy base from which to explore the surounding area.

Our short stay was made all the more memorable by the warmth of the host (who for a 'non-local' had an excellent knowlege of the local scene and attractions).
