“Pod stay”
Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

Booked a short 2 night break in a camping pod as an end to a lovely summer. Was great and finished off the school holidays perfectly. Found the pods by chance when searching for something different and were excellent. Lovely inside and really cosy. We were extra lucky as the weather was stunning. Fabulous site, excellent facilities and staff very friendly. Definitely would stay again and the children loved it. Even the walk to the toilets in the middle if the night with my daughter was worth it as I've never seen such an amazing starry sky in my life.

Thankyou for your time in reviewing Langstone Manor Park - I'm glad we were a good find, it was definitely the best find for us 14 years ago! The starry skies are amazing at the moment with a hint of autumn in the air. I hope that we have found guests that will return soon?

My wife and I have travelled widely in our motor home over the last 5 years, both in this country and on the Continent. Langstone Manor is one of the best sites we have ever stayed at, and the newly built toilet and facilities block is the highest standard we have ever come across. Langstone Manor is located in a beautiful setting on the edge of Dartmoor, the pitches are well positioned and generously sized and the Manor itself has all the facilities of a good pub, with a sitting room, library and (separate). games room attached - very welcoming on a dark evening or if it rains. We are keen walkers, and did several walks on Dartmoor from the site without needing to move the motor home, but there are lots of other attractions within a few miles: we visited several. The staff were efficient and welcoming, and the 'shop' in reception was well stocked, with fresh bread available to order each day. The croissants were fantastic! We booked for 5 nights and stayed for 7. That says it all really.

We have had such a great year for lovely positive reviews and it is so great to know that Langstone Manor ticks so many boxes for our guests - our location is perfect for getting out on the moor and then at night we have the bar and lounge as a refuge - a grand day out as they say up north! Thankyou!

My Wife and I have just recently returned from a two-night stay in one of the excellent camping pods............................it was a really enjoyable experience.

With regret I cannot add any extra information to that already covered by previous reviewers --- EVERYTHING WAS IMMACULATE!

We are both now in our 70's and have many years of tent camping behind us (both in the UK and abroad) and this was our first stay in a pod - WONDERFUL - of the very many sites we have visited over the years we would class Langstone Manor as one of the best, or probably THE VERY BEST.

Not really anything else to say, but I can't close without a mention of the supurb landscaping of the site............the trees..the shrubs..the bushes..the flowers ----- I am sure that the floral hanging baskets surrounding the amenity block would walk away with a first prize in its class at the Chelsea Flower Show.

I can promise you that if you visit YOU WILL ENJOY.

Room Tip: Everything looks good !

We have just returned from a 4 night break in a static caravan. We have stayed in many statics over the years but never with a dog and I was a little nervous that the accomodation would be substandard, this was definately not the case, the van was clean, comfortable and well equipt.
The location is perfect for dog walkers as you can walk straight out of the site on to the moors.
The site is very quiet and despite the remote location it is only a 10 min drive to tavistock for provisions.
We received a friendly welcome and were taken to our caravan and shown around. I would definately recomend this site and we will undoubtably be returning soon.

First and foremost the campsite is in a beautiful setting and is a great location for walking on Dartmoor or visiting surrounding places. The site itself is also very pretty with lots of attention to detail to the communal areas and the sites very own chickens roaming around freely.

The facilities here are modern, clean and Eco-friendly. There are not many showers/toilets but then I never once had to wait to use them.

The on site bar/restaurant, albeit only serving for a two hour time frame in the evening, was very good. The food was lovely and the portions plentiful - traditional British pub grub was on the menu and it tasted home cooked! The games room is a great idea - air hockey, pool, and table football, to entertain children and adults alike.

The glamping pod we stayed in was great - well insulated, clean, with a small heater, lights, and a double plug socket (we found very handy for the electronic wine chiller, charging phones/tablets & hair dryers/straighteners). There is also a small veranda at the entrance to the pod leading to a raised deck. On the deck is a small bistro table with four chairs ideal for eating on. Finally, there is a woven windbreak positioned in front of the pod, which was great as it provided a little bit of privacy.

We enjoyed spending the rainy September evenings under the small veranda of the pod chatting, drinking cider, and making the most of the peace and quiet.

For those wishing to venture out of the site for evening dinner we found the Peter Tavy Inn (about 2 miles away) to be very nice as well.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Langstone Manor Holiday Park. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. The site is lovely and located in a beautiful area. The facilities are second to none. I would highly recommend this site and would not hesitate to return.

Thanks for your review - sounds like you really know how to 'glamp' the decadent way! The chickens love wandering around the park seeing what everyone is getting up to and the pods are their favourite hanging out place in the winter.

In a short summary, this camp site is by far the best I have ever been to!

Showers & Toilet Facilities:
Spotless; i've never seen the shower and toilet facilities so clean and modern. Due to the size of the park, its only a short walk to these facilities.

Washing Up Room:
This area is right next to the shower block and again, it is remarkably clean and convenience. They provide you with a washing up bowl, bottle of washing up liquid, washing rack, and to top it off, a few brushes to wash your dirty plates.

Bar, Games Room, Reception & Shop:
These facilities are all close to one another, so its never a far walk to get anywhere. The shop is well stocked for all the small things you may need on your trip but the piece de resistance is the bakery. You can pre-order a day before home baked pastries and baguettes which are really cheap, a great way to start the day or simply as we did, buy a fresh baguette for an enjoyable lunch picnic on the moor.

The staff are always really friendly and they can't do enough for you!

Attractions:
To start with, your surrounded by beautiful walking area, overlooking the idyllic town of Tavistock. If your fan of british pubs, down the road (2 miles away), you will find the Peter Tavy Inn - one of Britain's best pubs due to the great food and local beer and ales on tap. I recommend the pies - absolutely to die for!

Apart from that, your near Looe and Palperro, two beautiful fishing villages where you will find great pasties at great prices!

Overall, I highly recommend this camp site to all adults and challenge you to find a fault, because I could not find one!

Room Tip: All rooms are great - highly recommend the pods for glamping!

A great review thankyou! We get a lot of satisfaction when campers see the facilities and are amazed how good they are, we put a lot of work into making sure they were going to be what we would like to see and so the positive feedback is great. Hope to see you again soon!
