It didn't start well. We were offered the main menu which to say the least is a bit limited plus we were offered the specials list. That was a bit of a laugh! 5 specials which we were then told 4 were off and the 5th had changed from one fish to another. Then there was only one available of a main course that two of our party required. With a limited menu surely you make sure there is plenty in stock? It was only 7.30 on a Friday evening.
It got worse we were told there was no coffee machine and they couldn't do tea! I had asked for a flat white which turned out to be filter coffee with milk. Tea was eventually found but by that time we were getting fed up so left. The food we,had was quite good but we won't be going back. The restaurant/pub needs an identity as it it neither pub nor restaurant and to be honest a little confusing.

We'd been told by friends that the ownership had recently changed, so they weren't sure whether they should recommend it. they needn't have worried. We had an excellent roast lamb lunch with plenty of vegetables and yorkshire pudding. The food felt freshly prepared, which Sunday roasts often don't. The French Malbec was exquisite. We were in a hurry so we didn't have a dessert, but we will definitely go back to try the full menu. The restaurant was larger than we expected from the outside and very comfortable. Service was attentive.

Popped in here for a couple of quiet beers whilst it was raining, recently has been refurbished to a high level, did not eat however it seemed a bit pricey but you pay for what you get I’m guessing.

Staff seem very friendly and lovely decor inside.

It has only been reopened since about 25th May 18 but the auguries look propitious. Real ale pumps, well priced wines,a good food selection at good prices. One of the chefs from its previous carnation is chef de cuisine giving continuity. Pleasant garden.
