We returned for our second visit to The Partridge on Saturday 19th April for an Easter treat to ourselves and what a treat it was.
The food was cooked to perfection and the flavours very well balanced. I had Snails (well cooked and flavoured), followed by Fillet Steak cooked rare (Very well tenderised) and then Cheese (the Berkshire Blue in particular was delicious). My partner had Pigeon to start (complimented well by black pudding), Seabass (Lovely presentation of whole fish which tasted incredibly fresh) and finished with Dark Chocolate Truffle Quartet (Some of the best had)
Accompanying salads were delicately flavoured with a basil infused oil dressing. This lifted the flavours of the leaves perfectly.
The service was seamless, attentive and friendly as before. Matthew the owner/head chef takes the time to visit all tables personally throughout the evening to ask if people are enjoying the food and explain ingredients, cooking processes or anything else that he is asked. This level of personal touch is very welcome.
This is by far and away the best restaurant in Wallingford by a long way and compares well up against 2 Michelin Starred restaurants I have eaten at.
If you find yourselves in Wallingford for either Business or Pleasure a meal at The Partridge is a must!
