We visited Avanti for the first time last night for our wedding anniversary and hoped we wouldn't be disappointed. We weren't! Initially we were a bit apprehensive when we entered the restaurant to see a table of sixteen who had just ordered their meal but the manager was very entertaining and kept things moving along with the waitress flying up and down stairs with the meals. They could certainly show some waiting staff we have encountered a thing or two. During this time people were also coming in for take away pizzas and this was all handled efficiently. I had king scallops for starter and my husband had the sardines which were both delicious. I followed with gnocchi, a favourite of mine and my husband had the sirloin steak with mushroom sauce which included saute potatoes and vegetables. So often these have to be ordered separately so that was a bonus. We both found room for desserts and rounded off the evening with coffee and a complimentary limoncello from the manager to make up for any slowness in the service. We were there for quite a while but it was so enjoyable and the atmosphere so upbeat with Dean Martin crooning in the background that we didn't mind at all.
Avanti is definitely going to be a favourite of ours.
