We were looking for somewhere to stop for dinner in the middle of a long drive and found Jeniric on TripAdvisor. It turned out to be a great find.
Jeniric doesn't look especially inspiring from the outside. It's in a little mini-mall, upstairs above a supermarket. But the restaurant is bright and airy and very nicely furnished - and the food and service were excellent as well.
As other reviewers have explained, Jeniric is not a typical Chinese buffet restaurant. Instead, the big buffets mostly feature foods that still need to be cooked. There is one section of starters that (presumably) need to be deep-fried, and then another section of vegetables, meat and fish options go go into main meals. There are also smaller buffets of cold starters and fruit and of some warm items, as well as an ice cream machine and a dessert cabinet.
There was a great selection of options for mains, including a choice of many meats and sauces. It was a treat choosing exactly what would go in my meal, and the dish, when it arrived a few minutes later, was tasty and very well presented, with vegetables that tasted particularly fresh.
There were lots of staff members about, and they were very friendly and attentive.
We were there late on a Saturday night, and there was karaoke going on in a room to the side of the main dining room. We could hear some energetic singing, but quite enjoyed the atmosphere. We were asked if the music was bothering us, and if we'd prefer to sit further away, but we were happy were we were.
All in all, our meal at Jeniric was an unexpected delight.
