In terms of location, this isn't somewhere that's going to win many prizes. Out by a Travelodge in a motorway junction doesn't normally equate to good cuisine. However, it's worth a trip out there because the food really is rather good.

It's nice to eat at an Indian restaurant that doesn't swamp you with quantity over quality, and here you get reasonable portions of food served in sensible dishes all cooked very well. A chicken chana puri starter was very tasty and the main course of spiced sea bass fillets on vegetables with a piquant curry sauce served separately was excellent. The vegan choices were also very good, as were all the side dishes.

It's not exceptional or outstanding so I can't give it a 5-start rating, but it is well worth it's four score. Here's another review where I'd like to have seen half star options too.

Visited Bombay 8 for the first time this weekend. We were not sure what to expect as its a funny location under the travelodge! However the visit was flawless. The decor was modern, it is quite small so booking is recommended but this created a nice lively atmosphere. The food was fab, rivalling some of the best we've been to in and around the area and the service was fantastic. We did not want for anything, staff were so attentive. We can recommend the poppadums and chutney tray, chicken pokoras, onion bhaji's to start, and the lamb madras and chicken tandoori masala for pains. Good selection of sides, again the garlic naan and rice were good too! Even the ice cream was nice! The price was reasonable too. Overall a fab evening.
